Aunt Flo did a drive by... what is up?

I'm on cycle day 95. Yep, I'm having issues. I'm 38, no menopause, had ultrasounds, OB thinks I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome).

She told me if I ever get to day 90 again with no period to take a Provera tablet to induce the period otherwise I'm risking cancer in there.

So last night I got my period, cycle day 95. I was really excited. My husband and I did the happy dance. But this morning, it's gone! I don't think I had it more than a couple of hours! What the heck? I know from the last ultrasound that the lining is really thick. So why is it holding back? I am so confused.

Has this happened to anyone else? What does it mean? We did have one night of unprotected sex about 18 days ago. So it did occur to me to wonder if there was a possible pregnancy situation but I don't have any of my typical symptoms.

Seeing OB on Friday. But was wondering if ya'll had any insights on what might be happening.

pregnancy is a possibility, but more likely it was just anovulatory bleeding.

what happens in really long cycles is the endometrium just keeps building and building and building after a while it can't support itself anymore so a bit sheds off and you get a bit of bleeding.

Update: Aunt Flo swung back around and appears to be taking up roost. I think she's here to stay

One really odd thing is that every time I have an appt to see my OB/Gyn I get my period! So I always have my period on the day I see her. I should probably just get a standing appt every 30 days
