Hi mamas! Fewer and fewer of us by the day. That's wonderful! I am starting to think I will be last. My dad arrives Saturday and I'm really excited to have him join the party. Its been a ton of fun and if my mom wasn't here I think i'd go insane waiting. Tomorrow is my son's #2 birthday so we're trying to focus on that instead of disappointment we haven't met our daughter yet.

Feeling pretty good. Every night before bed i get an urge to organize something I've already organized at least once before. Today my mom and i scrubbed the place really good (AGAIN) and I shaved my legs and did more last minute things just in case!

I MIGHT have had some mucus plug (just gooey and white, no color) and have had lots of BH. Other than that not much happening.

OH, but I am very pleased to write that baby girl has turned from facing my left side, to face up, and now face down. So she is in the right position but I find it more uncomfortable this way. And yet i'm not waddling as much or feeling as much pressure? Hm.

Hope all you ladies are finding ways to enjoy the waiting.

Still here and so not happy about it!

I have my 40w appt today, I'm 40w2d or just 40w depending on whose chart your looking at.
I've lost my mucus plus in big chunks for the past few days or so and I have had some tinged with blood. Contractions come and go but are never consistent. My other kids labors were pretty cut and dry so this one has me so frustrated! lol
I was 3cm last week and I'm actually interested to see if anything has changed, DH has to go back out of town after May 1st so she HAS to come out before then
post #3 of 44
I'm still here, too!!

I'm 40w4d now and officially more pregnant than I've ever been! I'm really not doing anything different than before, although I think I might have lost part of my plug yesterday. No real change in the frequency of BH or anything. I go in tomorrow and they are supposed to check me since they haven't done that in 5 weeks...and they said then they thought I would have her in 2 weeks! Ha! I showed them! We'll see if I'm getting desperate enough to have my membranes stripped. Who knows.

My dad is leaving town on Thursday and if she isn't here by then he won't see her until July. That makes me sad. Other than that, I'm not in a huge rush. I actually feel better now than I did a few weeks ago. Maybe I'm just used to the huge belly!

Hi all! I am 40w yesterday or tomorrow.

I was having managable ctx all eveing last night. They got pretty intense when DD nursed to bed, but otherwise, I decided to time them and they were 4-6 mins apart lasting almost a min. They were not realy painful, but they werent ignorable either. I walked the dog a bit down the street and nothing happened. I went to bed and woke up at 4am to go potty. So tehre ya go. Nothing.

But I am very achy this morning and have seem more mucus, so I think the baby was just settling down lower into my pelvis since she was pretty high at my MW appt. So *something* is happening, but it could still be another week here.

I am taking DD to a toddler play date and will be on my feet a lot today. So I will be pretty tired, but its better than sitting around wondering when labor is going to start.

wish me luck!

I'm leavin for my mw appt. in 10 minutes... and my bp is already rising. I'm going to have the usual battery of testing to make sure she's ok, hten probably rfue an induction- unless the can convince me that 1. she's in real trouble (which she's not, I can just tell) 2. I'm in real trouble (which I'm not, I can just tell) or that 3. It will almost certainly work, because I have to say, i really want to meet her.

other than that... I woke up feeling crampy and nauseous last night, and was hoping that I was going to start labor, but then fel asleep and woke up 5 hours later feeling fine, so I guess not...

Oops! gotta run! Good luvk ladies!!

i'm still here - now 40w1d. saturday i finally started to feel sick of being pregnant. so i see that as progress i feel like labor is coming, but not necessarily right now, KWIM? but my body is definitely gearing up, i'm having lots of signs, and this weekend started having totally sporadic but definitely more serious and crampy contractions. and i've been quite weepy and emotional - even more so than usual, that is - so now we just wait. DS was born 40w4d so i've been gearing myself up for going at least that long. i do feel humongous and baby is lower than either of the other two ever were, so i'm not enjoying the waddling so much. but other than that i'm feeling OK. i would love an earth day baby, though, so i've been talking to the baby about that some today we'll see if this kid listens to mama any better than the other two

I'm still here, and probably will be for another week at least (not due until the 28th). I've been having BH or pre-labor CXs (not sure what the difference is) that have been getting gradually more intense but are still very irregular. Today would be a bad day for me to go into labor for various reasons, but any day after today will be fine!

Still here also...39 weeks today.

My mother is scheduled to come in from the states on Saturday-my "due date" being on Monday. She is already saying-when are you going to induce. I feel so pressured. I am also planning a hb and know that if she is here she will be all freaked out. I love her and want her to meet her granddaughter though and she is only here for a week. I know that her being here will be a great comfort for DS so I am weighing that as well

Lots of stabbing with the fork sensations-increased discharge-BH-
not seeing my midwife until Friday and am considering asking her to strip my membranes. DS was born at 42+2 so it could still be a while for me/crossing my fingers for second baby luck.

Made DH do the deed last night and am planning to send him to whole foods for some black licorice (per suggestion on another thread)

Back from my appt!

3 almost 4 cm today so some progress! Baby is at -1 station and I'm 80% effaced. Everything looks good so I'm hoping it won't be long now!
39 weeks here and, by self checking so not totally accurate, I am 2 or so cm and 50% effaced. My SIL finally flew in today so our child care is here! Just playing the waiting game now. Been walking 40 min everyday...always get contractions after but they always fizzle out.

Off to drink a double brewed cup of RLT!

thanks for the low bp vibes.... my bp today was 118/70 and 110/70 on recheck. the NST was perfect, and when the midwife checked my cervix, she agreed that my Bishop Score was too low for a favorable induction, and said that if I can keep that bp down and assuming that my blood work keeps comeing back ok, i can keep trucking-

and I found out that the nursed will do my PKU stick while I'm breast feeding, which is an option I'd never thought of.

and my birth plan was approved- since I've risked out of the birth center, I wasn't sure if the hospital would honor parts of it-

All my bags are packed and loaded into the car, the carseat is in, clothes are washed, snackies are bought and the cooler just needs ice.

I'm gonna go put my feet up and watch the Red Sox.....

Congrats on your BP Porenn. I was wondering about you. Glad you're alright.

I'm not having a baby. I'm not pregnant, just huge.
I'm 39w1d. Nothing doing around here. I feel actually totally fine right now, amazingly. I feel like I'm only 6 or 7 months pregnant, which is insane, because only a couple days a ago I felt like my pelvic floor was about to break in half and my a$$hole was about to pop out (sorry TMI ).

I'm getting the crazy nesting urges, but I'm alternating very rapidly between flurried bursts of energy and needing to take a nap. I am showing absolutely no signs of labor at the moment. With DD I started contracting at 39w2d, but didn't eventually deliver until 40w0d--the due date! So, maybe tomorrow something will happen.

I'm here.

I have no news to report as we've mostly stopped having actual appts with the midwife. We had one at 39 weeks and I won't see her again until the birth unless this baby really does stay put forever and we decide to do some testing...
I still have to find a pediatrician though =/ Major stress there because I need an apnea monitor right away and everyone I talk to is being a jerk about it.

I was really tired most of this morning but had major nesting urges. I've got chicken noodle soup in one pot, batch #1 of chicken stock (for the freezer) going in the crock pot, cleaned the kitchen, swept & mopped etc. like a crazy lady this morning - then I took a nap and I woke up feeling GREAT.

I really want to meet this baby but I'm pretty sure I'll be pregnant forever.. At least the house is clean and I have a lot of projects to occupy me. I've gotta get dough rising for dinner (pizza) and then I'm going to wash & lanolize some soakers & sleep sacks I knit..

I really hope something happens soon .... Its such beautiful weather for having a baby!

Great news!!!

If anybody *needs* to bake and likes chocolate, muffins, and buttermilk... I just made a double batch of these (this recipe was up a few months back):
Chocolate-Chocolate Chunk Muffins, Makes 12 muffins
3/4 stick (6 tablespoons) unsalted butter
4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Center a rack in the oven and preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Butter or spray the 12 molds in a regular-size muffin pan, or fit the molds with paper muffin cups.
Melt the butter and half of the chopped chocolate together in a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, or in a microwave. Remove from the heat.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a large glass measuring cup or another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, egg and vanilla extract together until well combined.
Pour the liquid ingredients and the melted butter and chocolate over the dry ingredients and, with the whisk or a rubber spatula, gently but quickly stir to blend. Don't worry about being thorough — a few lumps are better than overmixing the batter. Stir in the remaining chopped chocolate. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
Bake for about 16 minutes, or until a thin knife inserted into the center of the muffins comes out clean. Transfer the pan to a rack and cool for 5 minutes before carefully removing each muffin from its mold.

So that's my update 39+ weeks, still having BH that wake me up but no real stirring of labor... huge, people gawk at me in public... and home baking today!

Lol... We've been watching that show on and off for the past couple of weeks. Dh is watching right now. No way could I ever do that!!!

I'm still here... 40.4 or 41 weeks today. I feel so close and yet it seems so far away! Nuts!

Just got back from my OB appointment, which was scheduled for 10:30. Yep, we were there for 3 hours!

First they did an NST. The nurse didn't get the contraction belt positioned correctly, though, so it barely noticed a couple of contractions. Dr. said "I care less about what the paper shows and more about what you tell me" though... gotta love him.

But, baby slept through the whole thing. Heart rate was 129-139, practically always around 132 or so, so they sent us upstairs to L&D for *more* monitoring. First we did a cervical check though... and I'm 3 cm, fully effaced! So these contractions (which are truly uncomfortable... I don't like using the word "pain" but hey, it does hurt) are really doing something.

I envy your BP numbers, porenn! Mine was 120/69 when they checked it after I'd been lying down a while in L&D. The first check was 144/88, but I was sitting up straight on the bed for that one.

Anyway, baby woke up some for the second round of monitoring, and showed some reasonable accelerations, so the doc was comfortable with me going home (though his official recommendation was that I stay). We hadn't brought our bag or anything with us, and besides, I'd rather be at least 5-6 cm before I go in, so we said see ya later... but probably not too much later ;-). DH is going to try to get a nap in, and we need to pack up our electronic gear (hospital has free wi-fi!).

So... looks like we're in the home stretch (unless everying just grinds to a screeching halt of course). Still, I bet it's going to be an Earth Day baby... maybe not by a whole lot though! I got to 8 cm last time; I wonder if the last 2 cm will go a lot slower?

And I have to brag on my doc, too... he reassured us *several* times that, when we do check into the hospital, we are NOT on the clock, and it's fine if it still takes another three days or whatever. ;-) I'm so glad, once again, that I switched care providers!

Me too, I've got a secret crush on Kjoy. I am amazed.

Yep, the "OMFG GET THIS BABY OUT OF MEEEEEEEE!" club

I haven't watched it in awhile, I love deadliest catch, but I don't know why. Don't tell anyone.
