Black Licorice

I recently read somewhere that black licorice is a natural method to induce labor....well I think it worked for me.

Friday I went to Whole Foods and bought a bunch of it and some fresh pineapple and snacked on that most of the day. Well labor started out of the blue at 10:30pm and I delivered at 4am.

Anna Sophia was born in the water weighing in at a delicate 8lbs 13 ounces.

Just a note: pineapple and black licorice are really a gross combination.:Puke

Not from your DDC but it worked for me with ds1. I ate a ton of black licorice and went for a walk and my water broke 9 hrs later (mind you by that point I was 41+5 sooo........)

From what i understand licorice can raise your BP, so if you have BP problems you may want to be careful.
(i could be mistaken but just in case i thought i'd share)

Yeah but you have to eat a ton of it for like 2 weeks to raise your BP.

oooh--I love black licorice Yogi tea but quit drinking it 4 years ago when trying to get pregnant with DS (my memory is fuzzy, but it does something with your hormones that didn't sound like a good thing for getting pregnant or nursing). This sounds like a great excuse to drink it again!
