ULTAMATUM/revalation UPDATED!

Alright! That's it, I'm going to be pregnant forever! I give up! I've got things to do.
I resolved yesterday, we're going to start recycling. The guys forgot to put the trash out this week and now it's really piling up. I think it would be good for DS (and any future children) to learn to be responsible for their effect on the world. So now, we recycle, I'm going to get everything set up to organize the trash outside and start going through what we've got piled up here.

I'm also going to start a compost pile. We don't garden, but I figured it can't hurt, maybe if I get some really good stuff I'm convince DH to start a flowerbed or something, maybe we can start with growing tomatoes. I dunno, but it's better to toss it outside to rot on it's own than burying it in Styrofoam in the landfill and then expecting it to break down. I've got to find a rake and a pitchfork, I think I'm gonna ask the guy across the highway for some of his sheep manure to help things get started. Woot I'm excited.

ETA: for some reason it quit letting me type.

Today I'm also going to clean the bathroom, take out the cat litter I haven't cleaned in a week. : empty the tub from DS' bath.... um.... : yesterday. and put all the clothes in the bedroom away so I can make space for the birth pool I'll never be using because this baby isn't ever going to come out. I guess at some point I'll wash DHs clothes. At least the ones he bothered to put in a hamper, I'm not going into his brothers' bathroom to pick them up off the floor.

I'll keep you guys updated on my progress.

You sound like me. I decided this baby is going to become a teenager before she comes out. I washed all our clothes, sheets, and towels yesterday as well as the outside windows on the back of the house. Maybe today I will tackle the windows in the front...or inside. Who knows. I'm just SO sick of sitting around *waiting*!!

That is so awesome you are going to compost. I looked into that last year and we couldn't figure out a good way to do it where we currently are. We try to recycle, but our area dropped us from being able to put recycling out so we have to drive it about 20 minutes. Makes for just one extra chore.

Maybe it's a sign that since you are doing all of these environmentally friendly things the baby will come tomorrow. It could happen!!

I'm with you. I woke up feeling the same way this morning. I've waited long enough. Dh wants to go out running around this morning... I figure I might as well. Nothing else is going on around here!:

I'd work in the yard, if it wasn't so cold.

I'd say your actually nesting now, and having a baby very soon.

I'm right there with ya! This baby's birthday is *supposed* to be tomorrow - I mean thats what we agreed upon, an Earth Day baby since my job is environmentally related. But yesterday I realized he or she is probably staying in there forever and I might as well not get my hopes up...

So I got up this morning and made a list of things I was going to do instead of wait for the baby... Its sorta 32 items long, and they are not small jobs so I'm doing as much as I can on feet better suited for the stay-puff marshmallow man and hoping its enough distraction..

Good for you for composting - We don't have a use for our compost either really since we live in a 3rd floor condo. I just switch between 2 big rubbermaid tubs with holes drilled in the sides and if I'm ever not pregnant enough to climb onto the roof again, I'll be building a square foot garden up there. Please be careful with sheep manure though - it requires special handling if you're ever going to grow any food with your compost, or have children playing in the yard. Compost made of all plant matter is much easier to deal with. (and you can just start your pile with todays kitchen scraps and some leaves or dead weeds from the yard)

Don't say that! You'll jinx me!

Xeko: Hmmm... I had heard that it's a good thing to add a little manure to a compost pile. oh well, the stuff will rot either way. I wish I did have some leaves or something to add to it, but there are no trees here. I was thinking about importing some leaves from my grandmothers' house in town.

Muse: Wow, I'm usually DYING to get out of the house. I had to nag my husband for over an hour yesterday just to go grocery shopping!! I usually don't nag, but damn, we REALLY needed groceries. Finally I had to get myself and DS dressed, and when DH cracked his eyes open to see what I was doing I had to tell him I was going at least to get some damn Tums, I was DYING! Blech!

Amaayeh: We live in the suburb of a suburb. Our town doesn't even have city trash service, it's private service only. I figured I'll just make one trip in town each week to drop it all off at the recycling center. Luckily you don't need a city water bill for regular recycling, only if you're dropping off a fridge, a tv, or used oil or something. Otherwise they take all clean paper, all plastics, cans of all sorts, and brown, clear, or green glass. WOOT!

ETA: I forgot I came back here to update! so far I've:
Saved two whole bags of trash from the landfill
Cleaned the cat litter box
emptied the bath tub
Scrubbed the tub
swept and mopped the bathroom
cleaned the sink, mirrors and toilet
mopped again
organized the desk drawer and filed away the paperwork that was inside it

Now I'm off to gather some laundry, sort more trash, and put away some clothes in the bedroom. hee hee!

Hmmm, I think most people would call this a burst of energy!!! Sending easy labor vibes your way!

All of your plans are awesome, by the way! :

Ah well, it *could* be an okay idea. I know there is some distinction between manure from vegetarian animals vs. meat eating ones but I live in an urban area and don't know much about that.

Either way good luck And I do hope your time comes soon (and mine too! lol)

You know, I read your project list and I thought to myself "She is going to have a bunch of unfinished recycling and composting projects sitting around for three months because she is gonna have a baby in about two days".

Way to go on the nesting energy! Just make sure you REST tonight and eat a LOT of energy-rich food before you go to sleep.

Luckily I've already got the bins set up out back to handle the recycling, so it can sit there until I've got the motivation to take it in town. And I'm pretty sure the compost will break down no matter what.

I totally get the resting at night. I do have a point where I just "turn off" and stop, and that's usually about the time I put DS to bed. After that I'm useless for work, even if I can't sleep. I think we're having baked pasta for dinner. Yeah... that's what I want to make.

Ok: update on the list. I got the rack set up to handle the recycling, I put the boxes of fabric I've been trying to sell back in the closet, I'm so sick of looking at them, and I've re-organized a few boxes to save some space.

I still need to dig more out of the trash to go in the recycling, sweep and mop the kitchen floors, cram a few more boxes in the closet, wash two loads of laundry and fold and put away all the laundry, or at least hide it in the closet. Thank goodness we've got a very large closet.
Oh! That was a reallllllly good one. maybe this plan is working after all... But I stand firm... I am NOT having a baby! Nope! Not me, no babies here.

ALRIGHT!
I am DONE for the day.
I got the kitchen floor swept and mopped, dinner made and eaten, and ALLLLLLL the boxes put in the closet.

I never did get the rest of the crap put out to recycle, but oh well, there's always tomorrow. And I've got to fold the laundry tomorrow. Whew, I feel so accomplished!
