What is my body doing!?

Hey everyone!! I've made it to 33 weeks! yay! Weird stuff is happening, though...... I've had some contractions on and off, and sometimes they go on for hours. I remember I had that happen with my last pregnany, no big deal. But, to add to it, I've had this intense pushing sensation!!!! I'm not sure if I'm dilated at all, but I do know my cervix is very soft....almost mush. I've been bearing down with all my might for 10 minutes at a time...and then the urge just stops. If I lay on my left side, the sensation usually stops and I don't get any more contractions.... but its usually such an intense urge that changing my position is the last thing on my mind.
Has anyone had this happen?????

It is way too early for contractions (more than bhx, that is), and I have no idea about this need to bear down, but I think you should call your care provider if you have one. I would be pretty concerned about preterm labor if I had your symptoms. It could just be that your baby's head is low and posterior, but I think you should have it checked out.

I second that opinion. With 7 more weeks to go, if your cervix is mush now, you do not need to be pushing. And the fact that you are tells me your baby may end up in a NICU somewhere if it isn't stopped. This is not good at 33 weeks. Please check with your care provider. This is way too early to be doing this....
