Soaker with DK yarn?

Will it work? Anyone got a pattern? I saw some beautiful handpainted yarn on ebay, and I'm trying to justify it...

Sure, you could do it. I don't have a pattern offhand, but you could modify an existing pattern -- you'd just need more stitches. If you have knit a few soakers you'd be fine, I think.

Or you could always find something else to knit w/DK yarn. Socks? A sweater?

Doing my part to help you shop!

Got one for you: http://www.dunmani.plus.com/knitting...ns/soaker.html
It's not knit in the round though but easily converted . . .
On ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...soaker-pattern

You could always follow EZ's directions for longies in Knitter's Almanac--only make shorts.

I haven't got Knitters Almanac yet- shocking, isn't it? It's only a fiver on amazon as well :

The yarn is HERE, btw. I love the soft colourways, I can definitely see them in my future.

I don't know if you are looking for a paid pattern but the patterns at www.Sheepytimeknits.com have customization for any guage and measurements.

Go do a search for Itchy Fingers on Raverly. She has a free longies pattern for any gauge.

The LTK soaker is DK weight. And there's a lightweight version of the wonderpants pattern, if you have those. They say light worsted, but you might could use DK weight depending on the actual yarn.
