Newborn Mini Diapers

Hi, has anyone used mini-diapers that snap into covers for a newborn? I was looking at the Very Baby tutorial: http://diaperfabric.com/sew-a-mini-d...ontour-diaper/

I was just wondering if they are ok for a newborn? Do they hold poo well enough? I am making some newborn nappies for a friend. I've already made 4 of the Very Baby diapers, but I think making mini diapers would be faster, would conserve fabric better and use less snaps. I am runnng out of snaps!

I am not sure if they are okay but I am using the shar's newborn pattern with a umbilical scoop on it from this site http://www.thenappynetwork.org.nz/diy.php

The ones in my blog are smalls, made with the Very Baby pattern. I do have the Fattycakes pattern, but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet.

I went ahead and made the mini diapers. I hope they will be ok. I still have to put snaps on, but here is a pic anyway:

sounds like you are describing more of an AI2 diaper, which should work fine, as long as there is elastic in the legs... there is a pattern for sale now that is simmilar, it is a mini diaper with no snaps anywhere, that has elastic legs and lays innto the cover, a cross between a fitted with cover and a contour with cover, really... it is by Artistry Baby... and was on Etsy but I think is sold out... but, it is a one size mini dipe with sized covers... seems llike it would work pretty well...
