Really stubborn grout stains

Okay, so I've been fighting nasty black mildew grout stains in our shower stall since we moved in to this house. We've used Tilex with a certain amount of success, but since I've had my baby, I'm wanting to go more green and not use such nasty chemicals.

Yesterday, I tried Borax. That made a small dent in the black. Then I tried BS and that didn't do anything. Then I tried a baking soda paste rinsed with vinegar. Again that made it look better. Not as good as the Tilex, though.

I need some suggestions.

I don't know if this will work on black mildew but I used the 'magic eraser' on our grout when we moved in. It was really dingy and a little moldy and that whitened it right up. Now, I only use my homemade cleaner to clean the grout.

what's in your homemade cleaner?

I mix 2 tsp of TTO, 1 tsp castile soap, and enough water to fill a gallon sized container. Shake a little and use it to refill a sprayer. If I notice any muck building up, I make a paste out of baking soda and my cleaner and use that. I scrub with a pretty stiff grout brush, so maybe that helps?

I don't think my cleaner would have done the 'initial' job but it has worked really well for maintenance for over a year now.
