I need some treatment ideas for athletes foot. I have tried an over the counter products but it doesn't seem to be helping. Thanks in advance. Kamie

Tea tree oil (TTO) can be pretty effective against athlete's foot. I generally use it undiluted on the affected area twice a day until the infection is gone, then once a day for another month or so to make sure it's REALLY gone!

Also make sure you're keeping the area dry, washing it at least twice a day before treating with TTO or an OTC medicine. Change your socks frequently (at least twice a day) and wash with hot water. If you have any shoes that you wear without socks, they'd need to be disinfected as well. It's generally easiest to wear socks and change and wash them frequently until the infection is gone.

If you've been doing everything "right" and the infection isn't at least clearing up, you may want to have a dr look at it- it could be something other than athlete's foot.

Thank You for yoru replies. Should I be concerned about our shower at home? I usually wash clothes in warm water so I will switch to hot. Thanks Kamie
