I am in the market for a wet carpet vacuum and find that it usually uses steam. Curious to know what could be the effects of steam on standard synthetic carpets in rental apts? I may be able to control the cleaning agent that goes in but am uncertain if there could be any chemical vapours rising from hot steam on the synthetic from the cleaning process. Is there a wet vacuum that uses cold water spray or can we control the water temperature in any steam vac? I am going to have a baby soon and am concered about carpet cleaning in particular among many other issues! Please share your thoughts on this.
