Wanna Play: I Remember When...?

Okay, a lil' something to pass the time - for everyone! Write about anything you'd like to!

I remember when...
  • I could sleep for more than 2 hour stretches without having to pee!
  • I was 55 pounds lighter (not sure I really remember this anymore, actually!)
  • I met DH, had a crush on him for months :, finally started dating over 3 years ago and the first 1.5 years was a loooong distance relationship... so worth it!
  • I cried to *now* DH about how 1. I never wanted to be the pregnant girlfriend and 2. We were going to be married by 3 months pregnant b/c no way was I going to be showing baby belly in a wedding dress, either (at this point I was crying and laughing hysterically at the same time)! Quick planning made for a really simple yet elegant and intimate, low-key wedding, which was great! And I didn't make anyone wear bridesmaids dresses! Woot woot!
  • I thought I'd have horses before I had kids. : Maybe someday soon I'll have kids on horses?!!
  • My refrigerator didn't smell like a dead animal... seriously, I have got to find the cause of that stench!!!
What do you remember?

I remember being able to get out of bed without almost falling to my doom.

....and rolling over without my pelvis popping.

....peeing and not checking the TP for blood, mucus, discharge, whatever.

...my belly not being rock hard

...hugging dh w/o him having to lean waaaaay into it.

yeah and hugging DH close and cozy without a lump in between. (I remember LOVING that feeling again of real hugs post preg).

having the energy to chase and be silly and dance with my son and now I am on auto-pilot. I miss that time.

Running in the park every morning, listening to my ipod...ME time.

I remember walking my dog for more than a block without having to stop and rest.

I remember when getting out of bed was not a 5 min production.

I remember when nursing my DD was a simple task, not one that involves lifting her body up above my belly and holding it there during ctx.

I remember when walking up the stairs was easy. I could even carry stuff, because I wasnt hanging onto the handrail for dear life.

I thought of more...

...reading a book to dd without having to stop and catch my breath.

...being able to sing and rock her to sleep, now I can't keep enough oxygen in me to do both

i remember when:

i could roll over in bed without waking up and heaving myself over while grunting from the pain in my pelvis and rock hard stomach

my shoes fit

i could walk my dog around the block in 20 minutes (it now takes at least 30)

i could breath and carry on a conversation without sounding like i have emphysema (sp??)

i thought 70 degrees was cool and balmy. all of the sudden it feels like the dead heat of august over here

I remember when...
MY BODY WAS PORTIONAL.
my boobs didn't have any issues.
I had to sleep on my side versus when I could/wanted to sleep on my side.
I couldn't bare eating cold food.

when sex was more than getting my cervix ripe and starting labor...and was not so uncomfortable! (I told DH he got this baby into me, now he's going to get her OUT!)

when my face didn't look so darn round. I hate the weight in the face! All my latest pictures look like crap.

when i could wear clothes that actually looked nice on me rather than a hobo. yes, i agree. hobo. someone else posted that. i wear the same things every day b/c its all that fits or doesn't push on my belly. i want to wear my clothes again! I want DH to come home and find his pretty wife, not a swollen pj lady with frazzled hair (and soon to be leaky boobs) sitting in a chair to lazy to greet him!

motivation for losing weight i guess!

I remember when....

The fertility doctor told me to come back and see him when I was ready to have babies and he'd "see what he could do" So, my boyfriend and I just had crazy sex whenever, fully confident in the fact that I couldn't get pregnant.

The full Irish Breakfast we were served on our Honeymoon made me so nauseous, and I chalked it up to finding out what Black Pudding was really made of.

I assumed that I was still jet lagged three weeks after we came home from Ireland.

My midwife told me that yes, I was indeed pregnant, but since she couldn't palpate my uterus, she agreed with my bloodwork- I must be only 5-7 weeks along- but set up an ultrasound just to check.

1 week later, the u/s tech told me I was 17w6d pregnant.

My mother-in-law slapped me when she found out we waited three weeks to tell her we were pregnant (not like it hurt, but still, who does that? I'm still pissed about that.)

WTC? We didn't tell anyone for 9 weeks, and you better believe no one gave me grief for it.

I would be pissed too.
