Nesting Challenge

Alright, so even if I end up being the only one to do this...I'm still gonna do it. Because I have boatloads of things to do, and G is too nice to hold me accountable...

so, I'm listing the things I have to do. I have 4 weeks to get them done.

--repot the small pothos plant, the large pothos plant. Hang the large.
--Thoroughly wipe down and out all cabinets, drawers and the dishwasher.
--Clean oven.
--Clean off top of fridge.
--Clean undersink and put all toxics on top hallway shelf.
--Put away all craft stuff, organized, in bottom of my closet.
--Downsize my shoe collection.
--Get rid of the unused printer in bottom of closet.
--Get rid of glass overware.
--Get rid of meat grinder.
--Get fabric and make cloth napkins. (Right now we use dishtowels!)
--Clean off plant tables.
--Clean out coffee table cabinets.
--shampoo couch and chair
--Shampoo living room floor
--organize entertainment center
--organize books
--organize desk
--file everything, clean out files.
--dust instruments and instrument carriers.
--Shampoo hallway
--Organize under bathroom sink and put all toxics on top hallway shelf.
--organize bedroom closets
--Switch out winter for summer clothes
--Move crate by bed, prep co-sleeper and bedroom changing station.
--Clean off dresser.
--Organize blankets armoire
--Clean off nightstand
--Shampoo bedroom carpet.
--Order printing tray for camera printer dock.
--Order wooden teether.
--Order wooden rattle
--Get small glass jars for freezer storing Breastmilk
--Get baby gates done
--Get Fraggle Rock DVD Collection
--Pack hospital bag.
--Make 6 frozen dinners.

whew. I guess I'll just edit my list as I get things done!

anyone gonna join me?

Ok! If nothing else, I need to make a list anyway.

--sort my clothes into donate/recycle/keep piles
--deal with said piles accordingly
--clean off the loveseat that has become a dumping ground for homeless items so that room is usable again
--clean out the freezer to make room for meals (how did we ever come to own so many frozen waffles?)
--make and freeze meals
--have the back yard cleaned (mowed, fallen limbs removed, etc) so I can labor in the back yard if I feel like it and for when guests start arriving. I know it will probably need mowed again before the baby is here, but right now it's inaccessible
--launder diapers a couple of more times to reach maximum softness/absorbency
--install car seat
--pack birth bags for me and baby
--gain control of the kitchen mess (one more load of dishes should do it!)
--pack away all but 4 of everything so that dirty dishes can not accumulate as they have. there's no excuse for 3 adults to dirty 10 bowls in a day.
--clean the bathroom, then require the guys to use the other bathroom for the foreseeable future
--sort shower gifts into keep/exchange piles and deal accordingly
--order/acquire the following:
--4 more diaper covers
--waterproof mattress pads
--sling
--wet bag
--baby/mama toiletries
--natural toys safe for chewing on
--glass bottles in case I need to pump sooner than expected
--organize baby things into baskets and prep her corner of our room

LOL. I have so much I'm not going to bother listing. It's a really good idea though.

At 38.5 wks pregnant I'm lucky to get the laundry and the dishes done everyday.
I am 39 weeks so it's crunch time for me!
I'm having a homebirth (I imagine going into labor and bummin on a sink of dirty dishes!) so I have to do these things on a daily basis.
*dishes
*sweep floors
*keep litterboxes ultra clean
*make bed
*do laundry
then I have to do these things every 2 or 3 days:
*tend to plants (I have A LOT!)
*keep bathroom clean
*vacuum
*go to store so fridge/pantry is well stocked
and then there's the major things that need doing, like:
*organize ebay (I sell on ebay) stuff so it looks better or so it is contained or something...
*super clean the shower/tub(soap build up is annoying and I just always forget).
*go through storage
*return lame babyshower gifts.
I wonder if any of those last things will get done?
we'll see. I hope I go into labor before then...

alright, in the last day or so i got a few things done, which is good.

i must say my dining room looks fantastic...the last few weeks it was looking like a tailor's shop with cuttings all over the floor and thread and pins EVERYWHERE!!! But now it's clean and organized with a shampoo'd carpet and pruned plants ready to regrow with spring!!

yay!!

now i'm gonna work on the kitchen.

i got a bunch of stuff done yesterday. i returned alot of stuff and hubby battled the wasps. he has to go back out tonight because the neighbor shed still has one nest and they got pretty pissed when i started killing off their relatives today the joy i get from killing them is pretty sick. i also got my tub faucet adapter and hubby test runned the hose. on tuesday my midwife is bringing the tub. i tried to arrange the 2nd bedroom but right now its a catch all for all the baby stuff. i also got abumbo and boppy today off freecycle so that was good. don't know if i will ever use the bumbo but i thought i'd try it when haven and i read books so baby can be included. joe last night put a bunch in the attic and then i found more to put up there. i am sure he'll be annoyed he hates giong up there. tonight after i pick joe up from work i am driopping off donations at goodwill. yesterday the woman at salvation army started going through the donation bags and was saying to joe that because it was junk week they had no room. it made no sense to me since junk week is when it goes to the curb. anyway after she made some snide comments about books. i said forget it i'll take it to goodwill. when did charity become so picky they were practically brand new books. anyway pregnant hormone rant

ha! 3 days without MDC and the only thing i managed to get done was clean off the coffee tables and set up my answering machine...

actually that's not true...i did plenty of things that weren't on the list...like vaccumming, deep cleaning pee spots on the carpet (damn you, kitty!) and entertaining guests complete with homemade pizza.

i also went food shopping, and did TONS of inversions and pelvic rocks and visualizations, etc. right now nesting is also meaning to make sure my baby comes head out.

how's everyone else doing?
i organised second bedroom and washed car seat covers and stroller. then found my extra car seat had been used as a littler box. i could have killed her. i threw it away and now have hid the other two car seats. why do cats do that?
i had our weatherization person comeover and he told me i have to clear out the whole attic so that undoes all the work in the second bedroom because thats where the stuff will have to go so they can finish our attic. the sad thing is that they may not work on it for months because we are on a waiting list but they give only one days notice of when they will be coming. hubby is going to be so mad since he just put up all that stuff.

I can't even begin a full list! I think I would cry.

We just moved in and I only just unpacked enough to have family over for a burgers and cake birthday party for my 2 year old yesterday! I can't even be bothered to fully clean up from that.

I am in all kinds of trouble.

I'll give it a go and keep it simple.
Do the approx 10 loads of laundry that accumulated during move and while W/D was being installed.
Shop for and freeze some meals for after baby.
Music on iPod for birth.
Continue general unpacking.

That's all I can muster.

My kids were super helpful this weekend and helped me get a lot of the cleaning done. I also finished most of my shopping on Thursday and packed the laundry basket with 90% of my birth supplies. I also got my herbs so I was able to measure and sort them for sitz baths and I made my frozen pads, I just need to transfer them to a ziplock bag.

i try to do one hour of cleaning and then half hour of nesting. it helps me settle my nerves. i couldn't imagine moving into a new house.

I updated my list. My dh is home for a while so we've gotten some things done together. He's working the next three weeks very close to home and is available to call for immediate arrival home should I go into labor. It's been great having him here.

There's still more to do.....but we are making progress.

Also, not on the list, but my DH painted the living room this weekend and I finished sewing some curtains. I worked on my Journal last night a little bit, but I am still only to 24 weeks in it.
