stripped membranes today

So, I broke down and accepted an intervention. I'm 41 weeks today with a big posterior baby. I decided to go ahead with membrane stripping because I knew my water bag might as well be made out of leather it's so thick. Maybe it will do something. I was sooo surprised that I was already 3cm dilated! I didn't expect that really. I've been having prodromal labor for a week now. It's been sometimes enough to keep me really awake. DH has to start his summer traveling for his art and music business the first week of May. My sis is starting nursing school Monday. I just really don't want to be alone in those first weeks YKWIM. And, I want my sis to be there to coach me as I was with her children. My trigger points are super tender today.... so just maybe this will help things along. Who knows. Here's to hoping.

I was right where you are.....41 weeks, sister graduating from college a week later...and broke down and took homeopathic stuff. It did the trick. I don't blame you. The membrane stripping will only work if the baby is ready...GOOD LUCK!

so how did it go?

I am considering doing this toay. it saddens me as i didn't want to have any interventions, but my parents are here from the USA and leave Saturday (my mom has been here 3 weeks!) and it breaks my heart to think they came all this way overseas and may miss it. My husband has exams next week for his master's degree.

i don't know what else to do.

Well i did it. it sucked but she said i did well. i just figured i'm ready to go through ANY amount of pain/discomfort at this stage...and altho i hated to intervene, i hope it does something. just some spotting. its been 6 hours and i feel the same tho.
