natural hair detangler??

Hi! I am looking for a natural hair detangler for my 3yo dd. She has curly, but dry, hair and even after one sleep it is headed towards tangled and matted. I'm not into washing her hair every day and would like something for the in-between days to get her hair untangled but not frizzy. I've seen those spray on detanglers, but, ugh! to all the chemicals and fragrances. Any advice?

My kids are bi-racial, so their hair is very curly and also dry, and this detangler works really well for us!

For "bedhead", we use rose hydrosol from Mountain Rose Herbs. Works great and smells heavenly.

Aloe vera gel is good for really tough snarls.

mix a little of your conditioner with some water and stick it in a spray bottle. It works great as a detangler. And so cheap!

Also, a satin pillowcase will help with the tangling at night.

That was a DUH! moment for me. We've got the Suave brand detangler and it's about to run out. I've been trying to think of a natural solution as both my girls' hair gets tangly.

I've found that after I comb DD's hair in the morning, if I take about a 1/4 tsp of shea butter and rub it all over my hands and then scrunch her hair, that her hair is less frizzy, it really holds the curls better.

Great for my hands too!
