If you are a lactation consultant, could you tell me what your path to becoming one was? I'm on the iblce site a lot, but still not quite sure how to get there.

Thanks!

I'm a LC...i'm not sure exactly where to tell you to go expect the www.ilca.com website...i think that's the site. Or google ILCA...tht might help you. I worked at a hospital that interned LC's so i had alot of help becoming a LC. There are different pathways that you can take that all require one on one with a bf mother. Last i checked you also needed 150 cerps, to sit for the exam.Cerps'.... a name that they have given educational course's and the credit you receive when attending or studing about bf. If you have more specific question please let me know. I know that this is vague...maybe someone else will be along with more info.

I'm a CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor) and will be starting my BA in Human Lactation through Union Institute soon (after this baby arrives). Their degree plan leads me through everything I need to become an IBCLC including the required clinical hours. After the degree, you're ready to sit the exam. Maybe this would be an option for you? Just a thought. )
