OT for your entertainment...you won't believe what happened to me!

At 2:30 London time (8:30 midwest) I got off the bus and this guy kinda pretended to get in my way and rubbed up against my belly and as he got on the bus i turned around and thought "What was THAT?", giving him a crabby 9 month pregnant lady death stare to his back. As normal put my hand in my pocket and my wallet was gone. Without even thinking I said "HEY! GIVE ME BACK MY WALLET", got on the bus, lifted up his jacket and took my wallet back. He didn't say a word! I was shaking and had major adreniline rush. I have no idea where the strength or wisdom to hop back on that bus and lift up his jacket came from! (Ok i DO, God was protecting me and literally just guiding my steps b/c it all happened in about 5 seconds!) It was AMAZING and I am so thankful. I have been thinking about pick pocketing all day and was just saying we got through 3 years without incident.

I wonder how many people have noticed their wallet gone with pick pocketing that fast AND gotten it back! Don't piss off a pregnant woman! I wish I had more time to think and would have shamed him but those around me heard what happened.

I seriously would not have been able to handle canceling my USA account, London account and credit card, plus the cash i had on me. And not to mention my super cool hemp wallet. :P

Go ME!

That's awesome! Go mkmama! I hope the people on the bus gave him hell or at least the evil eye for the rest of his journey. What kind of person pickpockets a heavily pregnant woman? Sheesh.

How perfect that you, amitymama, were online when i posted this...i just can't believe it! I was at Portobello Market all day (this was Saturday) and so was extra aware with the crowds, and had my hand on my jacket pocket on the bus just thinking about it for some reason. I was anxious to get home to DS who was with DH and I was thinking i was in early labor (feeling totally crappy), so the fact that i was aware enough was amazing itself!

Wow, that's amazing! Maybe he'll think twice before messing with a pregnant woman, LOL!

You go! I find moments like you described amazing - when you just know what to do without thinking, because whatever is guiding you is much bigger than yourself. And in this case, it is wonderful that you followed that lead b/c otherwise, ohhhweeee what a mess to deal with! And I'm so glad that the thief was too shocked to react, so that you are safe. I think you can celebrate tonight with some chocolate

YAY!

Behold the awesome of the mama! I am so glad you are safe, and got your stuff back. I too hope that someone on the bus saw and boxed his ears..

Gosh, how low do you have to be to steal from a 9 month pregnant woman??

Is pick pocketing big over there in the UK?

Mice...ha. Everywhere is infested and roaches too (but not at OUR place). London is NOT Britian as far as the cute little cottage type world people picture. Its a mass city and i have totally appreciated having friends from literally 50 countries all over the world...but have not so much enjoyed living in such a big city. Yes, from North of Chicago (WI) and moving back in June. (I need this baby out cuz i have a lot of paperwork to complete so she can leave with us!)
