One month appointment

How much did your baby gain? I am curious. We have our appoinment in about an hour and I am dying to know what normal is!

DS is 4 weeks old and has been gaining about an ounce each day since he was 7 days old.

So, how was your appt?
Teddy had a 2 week appt (at 2 weeks 6 days, LOL), and he was 10 pounds exactly, so he'd regained his birth weight and then gained another 6 ounces.
My other little ones have checkups tomorrow, maybe I can pop Teddy on the scale while we're sitting around waiting.

So Elias has gained almost two pounds at his one month. He weighed in at 8lbs 13 oz. He weighed 6lbs 15 at birth and had lost to 6lbs10 at our 2 day post partum visit. He is still so tiny compared to so many babies! I have a friend who just had a boy who was 9lbs 10oz at birth.

Did your appt go well?

Our little guy is gaining like mad. He was born at 6lbs11oz and at 1 month weighed 9lbs15oz. Yes, he gained 3lbs4oz in one month...!

Willa was 6 lbs. 6 oz. at birth and had gone down to 6 lbs. at 3 days when the midwife came for a check up. She will go to the doctor at 2 months but I did weigh her when I had my oldest dd there for a sick visit. She was 8 lbs. 1 oz. and that was at about 4 1/2-weeks....so 2 lbs. in a month. The "average" weight gain for a bf'd baby is 6 oz. per week. I feel like my girl is a peanut compared to most babies too.

Meredith was weighed at 3 weeks 1 day old and had gone from 9 lbs at birth to 11 lbs 1 oz. She didn't ever lose actually. She had gained 3 ozs from birth on day 3 when they weighed her. She's so chubby and cute these days. She's already outgrowing things and she's not even a month old yet! SOOO different from her sister who was tall and skinny the whole time. Merry is NOT tall and skinny!

We had an appointment for Alex today. He was 10lbs 10oz at birth, and 10lb 11oz at 3 days. Today he was about 3.5 weeks old, and already 12lbs 11oz. So 2 pounds in 3 weeks. He also gained quite a bit in length in those 3 weeks - from 21.5 to 22.75!

Hope your appointment went well - mine was almost nightmarishly crazy, with my two older kids tagging along and acting like wild monkeys inside the exam room! But at least our doctor is nice.

dd's birthweight was 8lb8oz. At her one week appt, she had gained 4 ounces, and at her three week appt she was up to 10 lbs! She doesn't seem big or small to me - she's just right .

My DS was born at 6lbs1oz, went down to 5lbs12oz, and now at 4 weeks is up to 8lbs9oz. If you go from birth weight, that's 1.5 lbs. . .so about 1oz a day.
