I am putting together a book, and need good quotes on birth, motherhood in the begining, and trusting women's bodies/intuitions/instincts. Anyone have any favorites? Or good sites? If you do have a quote, I need the person who said it, so I can give proper credit. Thanks!!!

"When we trust the makers of baby formula more than we do our own ability to nourish our babies, we lose a chance to claim an aspect of our power as women. Thinking that baby formula is as good as breast milk is believing that thirty years of technology is superior to three million years of nature's evolution. Countless women have regained trust in their bodies through nursing their children, even if they weren't sure at first that they could do it. It is an act of female power, and I think of it as feminism in its purest form."

Here are a few I like:
"Women have learned collectively, though not necessarily consciously, to fear the birth experience, and every obstacle has been put in our collective paths to keep us from experiencing this power...
Imagine what might happen if the majority of women emerged from their labor beds with a renewed sense of power of their bodies, and of their capacity for ecstasy through giving birth. When enough women realize that birth is a time of great opportunity to get in touch with their true power, and when they are willing to assume responsibility for this, we will reclaim the power of birth and help move technology where it belongs -- in the service of birthing women, not as their master."
--Christiane Northrup, M.D.
"In fact, childbirth is the ultimate sex act. All those hidden parts of my body that I once thought were for pleasure, or had otherwise ignored, suddenly became the center of the universe. From between my legs, like a legend, someone alive and breathing emerged. If having someone make an entrance to the world through your cunt isn't the last word in sexuality, I don't know what is.
Nevertheless, we arrive erotically perfect. From the moment we respond to a loving touch, we learn to suckle, kiss and respond to the warmth of a caress and an adoring voice."
--Susie Bright
"Humanizing birth means understanding that the woman giving birth is a human being, not a machine and not just a container for making babies. Showing women---half of all people---that they are inferior and inadequate by taking away their power to give birth is a tragedy for all society. On the other hand, respecting the woman as an important and valuable human being and making certain that the woman's experience while giving birth is fulfilling and empowering is not just a nice extra, it is absolutely essential as it makes the woman strong and therefore makes society strong."
