Okay me and the tv well we are almost through..
my cable bill is insane...
I have been home and watched - Dr. Phil and one of those crappy baby shows where the mother says....Breastfeeding wasn't me so I switched to formula (lol similac is more you?)....you know the type of shows...

But I do have some shows I really do like to watch...
I could download them? Not as easy as it sounds Canada has stricter laws about ipod downloads...

I watch: House, The daily show, The cobert report, the news and occasional iron chef...not enough to justify spending the $100 plus cable/tivo bill.

So what can I do?

The Daily Show and The Colbert Report both put up daily clips on Comedy Central's website, so although you can't watch the full episode, you can get your fix there. (Jon Stewart is the thing I miss most from TV... )

News, you can go to any news site, including all TV news stations seem to have their own sites these days, if you're hooked on a particular one. And they often show clips online as well.

Shows like House are coming out with whole seasons on DVD faster than ever these days, so you may have to wait up to a year but you can get them from Netflix eventually.

Iron Chef... I dunno. You and your kids can host your own Iron Chef with your free time?

Daily Show was my last dance with the TV too. A hard one to kiss goodbye... but yes, you can get them online if you don't mind them being a day or two old.

You can do it!

I did it last summer for over 3 months I watched 30 minutes TOTAL...
honestly if I could just download the boys, house and that to an ipod I'd be happy going without tv...guess I got to wait for technology to catch up...
in the meanwhile I'm committing to dropping the cable and tivo before i go to Egypt for a few weeks...
and when the fall starts again I might get some back - it will be american election time I am such a cnn whore..

For Canadian links, try http://www.thecomedynetwork.ca/ for full episodes of TDS, the Colbert Report, and other comedy shows.

Then try http://www.ctv.ca/ which also shows them, plus more. Just in the last couple days CTV signed a contract with ABC in the US to allow them to show more primetime type shows like Lost and Desperate Housewives. I wouldn`t be surprised if soon they`re able to show House.

You Tube.

You'll be surprised what you find on there...while I typically watch "Grey's Anatomy" on ABC's site-- once, they didn't put it up and I did find it on You Tube.
