My 5 year old needs glasses and DARN those things are expensive!

Anyone know a place where you can get nice looking, good quality children's frames and lenses for less?

I've heard http://zennioptical.com is good. I haven't used them myself, but plan to do so soon.

Looks wonderful but I'm concerned because those glasses are almost TOO cheap

And I don't understand . . . you get the lenses for free?

I'm going to go look at it a little bit more.

Not sure where you're located, but we found a great, locally owned, shop in the downtown of our city. Probably 1/2-1/3rd the cost of what we'd pay in a commercial store, since they really mark up things there. Perhaps you can look for a similar type store (make sure it isn't a boutique, because there the prices could be double ) in your area.

Good luck,

Here's another inexpensive option. Definitely worth a try for the prices, if your child doesn't wear bifocals. Mine does, and so none of these options worked well.
