Affirmations you used during labor? - Page 2

I had to focus pretty hard to not get carried away with the pain. Going unnassisted my affirmations were like, I can do this, it's going to be ok, everything's fine, yes, yes, yes, godess deliver me, HELP ME! Mother of nature I worship thee, MOTHERRRRR! etc etc.
HeHe, But it helped me allright.

i was very concious of staying relaxed and not anticipating the next contraction. my dh kept up a whispered chant of "relax, just relax, your doing great" that was so helpful for me. i really used his strength and love to help me through the "tough ones", he also knows my looks and when i would give him the silence look, he could handle it and not fall apart.

With my most recent labor, the only thing that I said during contractions was, "Low, looooooooooooowww." I used it to remind me to keep my vocalizations low pitched (I get all tense with high pitched moans) and to remind myself to visualize baby moving lower and lower in my body.

Hubby and doula kept telling me, "just get past this one" and after contractions, "one more closer to baby".

"Low" was just so helpful, though.

I didn't plan it at all but I ended up saying "I'm okay, I'm fine" a lot. And "Oh God!", LOL.

I did "oooopening" and "it's Ooooook, it's alllllright" and "ride the wave"

ETA--a lot of my "it's Ok, it's alright" came out as third person-- "you're OK, you're alright" and I remember wondering about why I was de-personalizing it during labor. The only thing I could figure was that so much of my labor study was focused on helping others, not myself. Who knows though, maybe I needed to de-personalize it to deal. IDK.

Up until transition, i did alot of "rellllax, Opppen, looooow" sounds a words. Going through transition, I started counting really slowly and low, and kept that up until right before delivery I'm a bit weird I guess!
