I am soooooo excited. I just discovered embellished prefolds and decided to try my hand at it and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it! I don't even know what I am going to do with them since we don't even used prefolds except for emergencys or as a changing pad. All I know, is I love making them! Just wanted to tell somebody. Ahhhh....

what do you mean? post a pic?

You mean like the ones with ric-rac and iron-on appliques and pom poms on the butt?

we want pics!

I have a sewing machine and I want to do this too! What fabric do you use? Do you embellish both sides? TEACH ME! I have just rediscovered the snappied prefold love

I LOVE embellished PFs! They're so adorable.

I'll grant you they're cute and they look easy enough to make (I make burp cloths like this all the time), but I'm perplexed about how you fasten them? Snappis don't work on wovens or flannel, so are people PINNING them?

I've seen embellished prefolds advertized as "non-snappiable", so people do have to get pins to fasten them. Alternately, you can add the cute fabric down the middle of the prefold, so the sides are still snappiable, and cut out a little window in the front where the bottom snap of the snappi would fasten..

If the fabric is not very snappiable I just let the third one dangle Or like someone said cut out a little window so that they can be snappied. I'll have to get a pic up sometime. Sorry so long, I totally forgot that I created this thread and never checked back up on it
I sew some pretty fabric up the middle strip. Some people also dye them or tie dye them. Ric Rac and ribbons can be used to. It's really fun. I've also made some little baggies that match the fabric and use the bigger PF that I've embellished as a changing pad and put them in the baggie with cloth wipes. So cute! Have fun!

I'm going to have to try this! I have been selling mine and not using them because there is no way I will pin, I just can't do it. I need to find some cuter fabrics too. I love embellishing pfs...I'm addicted

I started embellishing prefolds and I just do the bikini twist fold - the fabric just shows on the bum but not in the front. I'm finding this fold is becoming my favourite for functionality too!

ok... this is prolly a dumb question but... don't these diapers need some type of cover over them? or are you embellishing with PUL fabric? or... why are you embellishing if it just gets covered up with a cover? or do these not need a cover? i dont' get it? what am i missing? very confused

They do need a cover but sometimes I let her run around w/no cover on. I'm embellishing just for the cuteness factor, kinda like wearing cute underwear underneath your cloths
