Weekly Thread: April 27 - May 2

Hello -

Thought I would go ahead and start this since we haven't been able to do so ALL WEEKEND!

I am 39+ weeks, hit 40w on Friday. I am so ready, but I think she is going to hold out a bit more.

I did lose my plug last Thursday, so I assume something is going on down south, but no productive contractions. There have been some here or there.

I would be happy if she came any day but Tuesday, since that is my anniversary and I don't want to have to share that with her and I don't want her to have to share her birthday with our anniversary.

Other than that, I feel pretty good. I don't sleep so well, but I guess that is to be expected.

Okay, off to sip some coffee and try to catch up.

Hope everyone is doing well!

I'm doing well! 37 weeks right now. I had an OB appointment on Friday where I had my GBS test done and consented to an internal since I was already half naked. 1 cm dilated! Yay! I have gained a sum total of 25 pounds so far this pregnancy. I'm hopful for a GBS negative result when I return to the OB this Friday (going weekly now).

I felt contractions off and on all weekend: they'd come every 10-12 mins for an hour and then stop. This happened maybe 2-3 times per day. Plus, I think I've dropped, as I am constantly running/waddling to the bathroom. No bloody show, no mucus plug yet though.

I am sure this baby will come early, just hoping to make it past this coming weekend for purely selfish reasons (DS is spending the night with his grandparents and DH and I are going out to a nice dinner)!

Same here..40w on Friday. And I want to dodge Tuesday because it's my 2 year olds birthday. Plus it's the only day my doula works..lol. She can miss, but it's a pain for her. She has her clothes packed for work incase we go in today or tonight.

I'm sleeping pretty good so far. My right hip hurst a bit, but the chiro has been a huge help with that.

My mom comes in tomorrow night (unless i go before) for my MW appt on Wednesday am and she and DH are taking the big boys to the zoo with school on Thursday. I sooo want to go, but the reality of it is I will be miserable! All that walking would wear me out for labor..lol.

Hope everyone else is doing great! Can't wait to see all these babies!

I am 39 weeks today. I have tons of menstrual like cramping but I honestly think the baby will not come until I am after 40 weeks. I just don't want to go into labor around this Thursday b/c I have a final exam and Tuesday the 6th b/c I have another final

Today is me and dh's 1st wedding anniversary

Killick and adtake, that's funny how similar your situations are!

I'm doing fine. Compared to some of us I really have nothing to complain about, but - I am tired of the carpal tunnel in my left hand. I wore a brace to bed last night and it never got worse that it is all the time in the daytime. I was reading about it last night, and it was so weird how it was described as affecting the thumb, pointer, middle, and half the ring finger -- and that's exactly what I'm feeling!!

I hope the server is doing okay now... we can't afford to be out of touch in the next few weeks!

Well since my due date got changed, today is technically it! Woohoo!! I guess. But no signs of anything going on, which I knew would be the case but the last few weeks I've been hoping I was wrong. We shall see when bebe makes his or her appearance. I'm done school which was exhausting, and I am thrilled about that.

I'm onlt 35 weeks, but my due date is one month from today. Yikes!

37 plus weeks and counting. Two weeks from today she will be here! :

I am feeling alot of pressure down below. VERY uncomfortable, exhausted and huge. I told hubby during the night when I couldn't sleep we need to get the infant carseat out and washed. We can store it in his car for now. Need to get the baby clothes out too.

35w2d down!

I started having very serious contractions over the weekend. I doubt
I'll even make it to the 38 week date my midwife has offered for a birth-center induction. It is nice, though, to have some light at the end of the tunnel. She and her backup are worried about my safety and baby's safety since my bloodwork seems to indicate an infection and they can't track it down. Plus my liver is starting to have problems and they don't want to risk stillbirth (which can happen with liver problems).

I think he'll be here sooner, though. The contractions I get now (thankfully not every 5-7!) are 3+ minutes and I can feel cervical change with each one. Hopefully he waits till 36 weeks.

on a frustrating note, what is apparently norovirus is circling around like a vulture. Everyone but me has had it now. : Poor DH was up nearly all night friday with it.

I'm just dosing myself up with zofran 4x/day and making the sickies stay away from me!

36w. Yay!

That being said, I.AM.MISERABLE. There's just too much going on, and last night I was ready to claw apart my abdomen just so I could breathe. Just because it's Monday and I'm feeling kvetchy, I'll give the laundry list.

*Contractions every 20 minutes means waking up every 20-40 minutes at night, which means no good sleep.
*Seasonal allergies have hit full-force.
*Apparently baby has TONS of room in there, because (s)he is still kicking the crap out of me and moving all over, which is incredibly uncomfortable.
*Because of allergies and baby, I'm not getting enough air, so I spend most of my time winded and dizzy.
*Baby's butt is dead up against my stomach, meaning I can't eat without deep pelvic cramping and I spend most of my time either ravenously hungry or about to throw up because baby's doing the boogie on my stomach.
*I get the awful limb restlessness every time I wake up, so it takes me about 10-20 minutes to get back to sleep and I just want to scream (and so does poor DH).
*I can't lie down. Period. On my side, on my back, anything.

Positives:
*I haven't felt any gastritis pain since going off eggs.
*I've slowly been adding dairy back into my diet, and have found that I can have a little bit of yoghurt or cheese without any symptoms.
*I'm going to the MW today, and she's 100% on board with me declining my GBS.
*This is my last week at the bank, and I am psyched!

Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one just getting around to this! I did the first load of baby clothes yesterday and have another load that has to go in this morning.

Our birth kit is pretty much complete, it's just that there are a few items scattered around the house that have to be chucked in the big tote where we are storing everything. We bought a fishy pool on the weekend and DH is getting hose, adapter etc today. I suppose it's about time, given I'm 39 weeks tomorrow!

I had a lot of uncomfortable BH cxns on Saturday and Sunday morning but they went away after I downed lots of fluids. It is neat cause they are starting to remind me what labour feels like (well, more like where you feel it, since they are uncomfortable but not painful!).

I am feeling well pregnancy-wise but I have a cold and cough So I am figuring (and hoping!) no baby till I am past the worst of that. And one more little complaint...DH's parents are now calling every other night to check and see how I'm feeling, anything happening etc....ARGH! They are on call to take care of DS so I suppose that's why the constant checking in, but obviously if I felt labour was imminent I would call and give them a heads up! Not to mention that when they call, they are both on the phone at once...now, if I have mucous discharge tinged with blood or some other equally TMI pending labour sign, do you think I'm going to tell my MIL that while FIL is on the phone listening? NO!!!! Sigh. My parents get here on Saturday, I have a feeling they will be here before baby and I have to say, I am pretty relieved - it makes things so much less complicated (don't have to tell anyone we're in labour etc...just like last time!).

Phew, sorry so long!!!

Heck no! I think its when you are a first time Mom and have everything done by the end of the 2nd trimester. You get more and more laxed with preparation with each child.

Really? We first time moms are supposed to do that? :

Soooooooo not anywhere close. We just ordered our diapers and my postpartum mama cloth yesterday.

Pretty good so far this week, i am pretty tired though, we had a festival where we had our stall, and it was a bit of a flop we put a heap of effort into it as well, we only just managed to cover rent. Sigh, we could have really done with a bit of money right now. And the house is a mess, with all of our stock and equipment, i know the baby wont come until it is clean, it is too much of a blockage for me mentaly.

On a good note i am into the safe zone for my home birth at 37 weeks now. So yay me! I think that things are starting to happen, nothing major, just a couple of big contractions here and there, lots of pressure, the baby seems to be really engaged, and i can definatly feel something happening with my cervix, dont know what that is, but its doing something thats for sure.

Oh and extra good i seem to have gotten my horny back, so DH is happy, and i mean back with a vengance.

I am really hoping that babe decides to come next week, i am freaking about not being able to use the medication for the hemerroids, that is my only fear. I will get thorugh it if i have to, but it wont be fun Its not major compared to what others are going through, but it is pretty horrible and painfull.

Yeah no kidding, we still have to clean the mold out of the back of our car where it leaks into the boot, and pick up the car seat from my mum. Oh and wash the clothes, and get a cot to side car since we stuffed up the other one, oh and set up the birth pool, and get the hoses for it, and, and, and eh at least i have boobs, thats all you really need right?

I'm feeling MUCH better mentally this week. Physically, well, let's just say it really does suck to be full term with twins. But mentally I dug way down and found some reserves I didn't know I had and I'm ready to plunge through the next 4 weeks. I'll be 36 weeks on Friday, so I'm really, really hoping I'm not still pregnant a month from today!

Today I have a prenatal at noon and my last sono at 2. I'm excited to see how they are doing. I'm pretty sure on friday Ben flipped breech but now he's back to vertex (I think). Funny that he has SO much room still to wiggle. Make me laugh at those who tell a 36 weeks singleton mom that her baby "can't" flip. If my 5.5 pounder can do it at 36 weeks with his 5.5 pound sister in the way......

Anyway, I'm better.

So glad to hear you're feeling better! We have our appointments at the same time today (with you being in a different time zone and all), so I'll be thinking about you!

OMG, it was killing me not being able to get on MDC!!! I think I'm a certified addict . I knew there were babies being born, though, and I needed UPDATES!!

Anyway, still no baby here. Will be 40 weeks this Friday. Have been feeling lots of changes in my body, but I'm not sure if they're "changes because we're getting ready to have the baby today" or "changes because we're getting ready to have the baby in a week" . I'm really pulling for today! I am finally finally really feeling ready (emotionally and physically ... I give up on the house, it will never be ready ) and getting really excited to meet this little one.

I don't think I'm having true contractions, but I'm calling them braxton-hicks with a kick . They seem more than just a bh, but not the full-on menstrual cramp contractions that I got at the beginning with dd. Also, I went in search of my cervix on Saturday and I think I'm a few cm dilated, but I'm not sure exactly what I was feeling (will post a separate thread with those questions).

I just shipped dd off for the day with the ILs, and I'm going to eat my breakfast and catch up on all the reading, and then take a NAP!

I'm doing good, the contractions I had early last week have *poof* dissapeared, I noticed some plug with that stuff going on too. Happy to have just the plain old BH again and not as many as I was having. Once I hit 36 weeks I'll put up with it but until I am homebirth-safe I don't want to deal with any pain :P

I am mainly laying in bed when i'm not doing stuff, no more sitting at the table with the kids or sitting in the living room. I like my back not to hurt & ribs not to be sore thankyou. The kids hang out in here with me instead

We got a bunch of housework done this weekend, Home Visit is Thursday!!! My mom came over and cleaned the kitchen, we worked on our room & I cleaned the bathrooms. My husband cleaned my van and found out it needed a new battery and fixed the broken seatbelt.

I think im just about ready, there is some laundry to be done and I want the fourth side on the crib (ie safe spot out of reach of my 2 year old) Speaking of my 2 year old, she wants me to read cinderella.
