Gagging and teeth brushing

Thread Starter
My five year old has real trouble brushing his teeth. He seems to have an extra sensitive gag reflex so we can never really reach his back teeth as it's so uncomfortable for him.

I wonder if anyone has been through a similar thing and has any advice?

Thanks!

Hi,

My 4.5 yo has problems w/brushing for the same reason. He'll sometimes let me help and I think it's gotten a little better w/practice but it's a slow process. I get my son to swill out his mouth w/water after he brushes too. My son also has problems w/eating certain textures and chewing...all sensory issues but these things seem to be improving as a unit.
