Shocked to be here

I am still in shock, we thought we were done at two kids.
On Friday I took the preg test on a whim....:
I know I will get happy about this turn of events but,
oh my gosh, this was not my plan!

Congratulations Mama! My last pregnancy was about as unplanned as pregnancies get, and it took me quite a while to warm up to the idea.

My unplanned babe is now chasing after our cat... he's 20 months old and the light of my life. I wish you the same.

Prism. I am still in shock myself and we were planning on another...just didn't think it would be right NOW...must be why it takes 40 weeks, to give us time to get used to the idea.

Oh gals, thanks so much.
I was so scared to post that I'm not exactly thrilled right now;
but I have faith that I will be. I don't want to be the damper of the
party. I have a cousin and a friend that just m/c'd and I feel so guilty.
Triscuitmama I also see you a a mw student; I am to start in the fall and am freaking out how I'm going to do schooling w a new babe!
Thanks to all of you, I am happy to find support here and
look forward to progressing with all of you.

Don't worry! I am in the same boat. We had decided to wait at least one or two more years before having another baby if at all and then surprise! Our families are thousands of miles away and ds still takes up so much of my time and energy. It's scary but even though I'm not a particularly spiritual or religious person I kind of believe this was meant to be. Good luck and I'm sure this due date club will be a great source of support for all of us.

I like your optimism that you will be okay with it. I think that is a great attitude and shows a lot of strength. Someone out there in the Powers that Be had this planned.

In my "I'm not telling" mode I've told 4 people,
and I am amazed at how many moms feel this way
with an unexpected pg. Makes me feel a bit more
normal.

I was glad to read your post. We thought we were probably done at 1, just took the test (twice) an hour ago. I have had a little nervous breakdown. Maybe I will get used to it. Sighhhhhhh Its nice to know that maybe not everyone is thrilled at first.

I'm still here with you! I am getting a little more used to it all. We went to a baby shower today, there were 2 newborns there and I just couldn't stop staring at them, they are so tiny! That made me feel good. THen there were the one year olds whose moms had to chase after them to keep from destroying the hosts home, or hurting themselves, and I thought "oh crap". i'm going to have to do that again!!! DH and I were talking today, saying we probably would never had had another by choice, maybe this is natures way of saying we need one. Now to get through 9 months......
