What will you do with your Stimulus Check - Page 3

We're buying bulk food, food storage, goats for milk, and two panels of polycarbonate to finish our greenhouse.
The rest will go into daily living as we are both at home right now finishing the super cheap house we've been building.

We're using ours to help pay closing costs on our new house.

$619 out of our $900 will go towards getting the A/C working in my car again (new condenser and radiator) [I am almost 5 months pregnant, with a 3 yr old, in Florida, this is important]
the other $280 will go into savings for the newer car I plan to buy next February.

All going straight to my savings account to sit there, happily.

Wow, after reading the bit about the 10% on groceries, mine is going straight to Albertsons to grab an extra $180.

I was going to say it'll go straight to DS's mouth (he's getting an Ortho appliance in May), but I guess we'll take it out of a different account.

Now I need to remember to go to the grocery store...

*EDIT*

Just read the SuperValu link and it says the extra 10% is only up to $1200. I guess the other $600 will go into our savings account.

We should be getting $1200. I am tithing $120, $40 for homebirth kit, and the rest goes into savings.

We're putting in sliding glass doors and new living room windows. We'd planned to do them anyway but were planning to save up until we had a comfortable size "house emergency fund" and we probably wouldn't get to it until next summer. Now we get to enjoy them a year early and we should have less heat loss from our living room this winter.

Ours is going to pay for our CSA share and our june morgage payment, anythign left, Im thinking grcoeries but we may be homeless due to selling our home and our new one not being built yet so I'm not sure really. but it should help us get ahead by not being spent.

It'll pay August's rent, and buy some food. DH expects to be out of work for two months and we are glad to have the extra help so we can keep out of credit card debt.

What do you need in your homebirth kit? I have a kit I never used and would happily send it to you. Not sure what all is in there -- lots of pads, cord clamp, Emergen-C. We used the aspirator, but nothing else.

Since we already worked at paying off our car and credit card (today, yay!) and are debt free besides our mortgage, we'll be spending a bit of it...a new flowerbed (my sister is helping me put it in, so it'll just be the supplies), DH bought a cb (hobby of his), contacts for the two biggest kiddos for the year, new summer clothes for the ever growing kids, paying up the car and homeowner's insurance for the year, and the rest into savings for school supplies/Christmas/any emergencies that may come up.

I'm not sure if I get $300 or $600? Either way, I think 1/2 to credit cards, 1/2 to charity.

Going to pay off the Visa bill

New i-MAC. Very, very sexy. I can't wait.

I might even start blogging. We currently have 3 computers none less than 8 years old and all purchased for $25 from DH's old work stock. And neither of us are really technical enough to make these work. Flat screen city here I come!!!

We are investing it by buying insulation for our meat rabbitry, more gardening stuff, bulk staple foods, maybe fencing for a few goats, and flooring to replace our awful carpet (who does carpet w/5 kids in the house anyway? yuck!). Anything that may be left over will go towards debt.

$1300 of it is going to pay for dh's necessary dental work. The rest is going in savings for our cross country move in a couple of months.

Hey, me too! When we discovered that my old computer was actually smoking, we figured we should retire it and get a new one.

We also bought a slide/swingset/playhouse combo for our 4 year old. I spent weeks checking yard sales, craigslist, eBay, etc., but no luck, so we finally decided to just buy a new one. When we combine it with the patio furniture we bought last year, hopefully we'll actually start using our backyard and getting outside more.
