Should I take DSs to allergist

so my mother convinced my dh to go to an allergist this week. he has been having bad headaches and digestive issues for a long time...turns out he has some food allergies. well ds1 has been having really bad problems with his seasonal allergies, and his pediatrician put him on zyrtec. ds2 has been possibly having some issues with foods that i am eating giving him a reaction. he is exclusively breast-fed. The allergist said that he can have them tested as well. Should I take them too? the zyrtec seems to be helping ds1, although he is still snotty. The allergist wants dh to start using all these prescription nose sprays and stuff, all of which our insurance doens't cover, so if I do take them, what sort of treatments are we looking at....I'm just new to this whole thing and need some suggestions.

Before taking and/or buying meds, I would try having some honey straight from a producer within 300 miles of where you live. Works here. Good luck, it's awful.

I just wanted to point out that this person is obviously saying that your *husband* might do well to try some local raw honey. NOT your child. Honey, especially raw, can be very dangerous to an under-1 baby.

In answer to your question, if your allergist is suggesting a blood test, I see no reason not to do it. Environmental allergies are very rare in young babies, they usually develop after 2-3 years. But if he has food allergies, then it might help things for you to eliminate those foods from your diet (and not give them directly when the time comes.)

Yes, this is what I was responding to. No honey for your baby.
