I would be perfectly content with no TV in my life - the internet, unfortunately, provides me with all the media input i really want or need in my life.
my dd (just 7) has always had her brain completely sucked out whenever the TV is turned on - it's frightening, actually - so i've been pushing extremely limited TV for years, but dh has always been the block to complete tv-freedom (major cnn, history channel, etc. junkie).
but, totally flabbergasting me yesterday, he says, "when we move i'd be fine with not hooking up the cable."

thinking about it today, though - i think i'll broach the conversation tonight about why not now? we probably won't be moving til mid to late summer, so that's a few hundred dollars we could save!
how do most of you manage media? we're thinking we'll keep the tv for the dvd player, for movie nights here and there - and dh and i would probably continue watching lost online after the kids are asleep. where do most of you fall on the degree of media exposure?
