I think he just cheated on her....and his way of getting away from
"the situation" was to get out of his previous job and start over. I think they are still married and last night he realized how much he loved her/didn't want to lose her.

This was the saddest thing I have ever seen on TV. I just about started bawling.
People do choose to end burdensome treatment all the time. I do think it was a lot of creative liscense waking her up though, I don't think anyone could wake up when their body was that broken but I don't really watch house because it is ultra realistic.
I watch it for the interactions between the characters. I loved watching the character evolve from CTB to Amber. Fantastic writing I am so impressed.

No, I said I'd definitely want to know and would want to be awakened. My husband said good to know, but he wouldn't. But then he said, "Oh, what the hell, I guess I would, I just don't want to be kept alive on machines." So see, this got us talking about it.

That was a very moving episode. And Wilson -- WOW. That acting was stellar.

I'm very disappointed that Amber is gone now and Wilson lost his love. I'm glad he found love, though. They seemed to be a very good match.

I REALLY like Kal Penn and am happy to see him on House.

I guess I should tell my dh the same thing.

I agree that he did it for selfish reasons, so he could say goodbye. Even though she came to terms with it, what was the point of putting her through the initial terror of knowing she was going to die? I think he should have just left her in peace.

I still get teary-eyed thinking about this episode...

I hope not! I hated that storyline/ character

I really hated that story line too! I think it would be a huge mistake to bring it back.

When is the new season starting???

Does anyone else keep expecting House to break out in a British accent?

I don't watch often, but enjoy this show when I do. The House character intrigues me.

Hugh Laurie's Bio for those that haven't seen his other works.

I adore him. He's in one of my all time favorite movies, Sense and Sensibility. He's just an all around talented guy.

This House character is very loosely analogous to Sherlock Holmes. Holmes' friend's name is Watson, House's friend's name is Wilson. They're both detectives, single, both addicted to drugs, both have issues with women.

Good gravy... I'm going out of town for my sister's wedding so I guess I'll be missing it! I'm thinking I'll be on the road then. Or exhausted from travelling with four little ones! I'll catch it on the re-air, I guess.

I just discovered it and am now catching up. so good and I don't usually like er-type shows. I hardly understand the diagnosis parts the characters are excellently thought out though
