i took DD to the ped today for an allergist referral and check her diaper rash(whine/rant)

and got a a prescription for Clotrimazole and an info sheet on diaper rashes. not what i was expecting. i feel so helpless. i just need a little help figuring out what going on with DD. the doctor seems to think that since there's no history of allergies in our family then DD may have sensitive skin and maybe a fungal infection. i wasn't sure how to respond to that. i *know* something is off with DD. something is reeking havoc on her little system and i can't figure out what it is. i'm supposed to come back in a month and see how DD is doing on the anti fungal. blah!!! i wish i could afford my naturopath.

My dd gets a diaper rash if she eats a food she's intolerant to. Luckily she's daytime potty trained and avoids all her allergens. But she wears a pull-up at night, and if she gets into something she's not supposed to, she'll have a rash all over her diaper area in the morning, must be it makes the urine more acidic or something -- it's little bumps everywhere. She also gets what looks like a "chafing" rash from corn, but of course without diapers all the time, there's nothing to chafe her. But it is more likely a food intolerance than an allergy, and most allergists don't even "believe" in food intolerances. That's why these boards are so active. Because people aren't getting the help they need from the medical establishment. I'll rant with you any time.

My DD gets the diaper-area rash too when she's reacting to a food. Our ped thought it was just diaper rash too. But no amount of zinc cream will affect it- it just goes away almost instantly when I find the 'offending' food in my diet and stop eating it.
