How is the quality?

Thanks!

I've used their 'Crayon' cotton boucle-type yarn for a baby sweater and loved it, and their Shine sport. Haven't tried the wool yet.

I have used their wool and there superwash wool, some of their laceweight and sock yarn.

The one thing that I have a problem with, is the color accuracy. Of all the yarn that I have order the color isn't even close to what i saw online.

I am getting a color card so i am sure that would help.

I used Knitpicks Wool of the Andes to knit the first pair of soakers I ever made. And boy is that some hardy wool. It's not rough or itchy but it has really stood the test of time for a cloth diapered baby. The soakers have held up so well that I'm able to use them for my new baby. I really have nothing but praise for Wool of the Andes and while I haven't bought any other yarn from KnitPicks just yet, the quality of Wool of the Andes certainly puts them on my top list of companies I'd patronize.

I have used the Wool of the Andes; as others have said, it's very sturdy. I also really like their Essential sock yarn. My mom has knitted with the CotLin, and says it's got a really nice feel to it.

The colors on the website aren't necessarily accurate, but that might be a function of monitor settings, so I would recommend getting either a color card or one of their paper catalogs, and using that as a color guide.

If you're wondering about the needles, I LOVE them!!! I just got the Harmony DPN set for my birthday, and got the Harmony interchangeables for Christmas. Next up with be the nickel tips, my mom has those and I just loved knitting with them the last time I was there. Nice and pointy.

I just used Shine worsted to knit a skirt for my dd... it was SO soft and wonderful to knit with! Wonderful yarn.

I just finished knitting a sweater for my dd in wool of the Andes. In fact, she insisted on wearing it this morning to school even though I've not blocked it yet (it's unseasonably chilly the past few days here in North Georgia). I can't speak to how it holds up over time, but knitting with it was really lovely! And as others have said, it seems like a really strong yarn, but it's not overly coarse (no complaints of scratchiness, and believe me, dd would certainly not keep it to herself if there was any discomfort going on).

I'm currently knitting socks with the Felici self striping and I'm loving that stuff!! I have some Essential sock (May is officially "Sock Month" in my house) waiting to be knitted up and it seems very nice as well.

I've used many of their yarns and been please with them all.

I have the Harmony interchangable set and LOVE it. I've also got a few fixed circs and they are great too. I'm a magic looping fool now and don't use DPNs at all!

They have fabulous customer service too!

I have decided to make this the "Spring of Socks" to replenish my sock drawer! Have 2 pairs OTN now, two skeins of sock yarn in the wings, and 2 more on the way... :

I am knitting with Felici now too and it's great -- very nice hand and looks great, too.

I love, love WOTA -- you can't beat it for the price. In fact, I've been happy with all of the yarn I've ordered from KP, except for the 100% merino sockyarn which I think has been since discontinued -- I found it pilled very quickly, but I am not a fan of merino sock yarn anyway, so that may be just me.

HTH!

The wool of the andes is decent for the price. It pills like the dickens and felts easily which is good if you are trying to do that!

I've like some of their yarns and not others.

Good prices though!

I've used WOTA for DH's sweater. It seems to be holding up well (though the sweater needs a wash).

I loved the sock yarn I got - landscape in Redwood Forest and Yukon

I've used crayon and WOTA Bulky for crafts. Very nice to work with.

I've only had problem with color once - I ordered WOTA Beryl Heather for my MIL's sweater, and it's a bit too bright. It's almost a pool turquoise, so I ordered another yarn altogether.

I opted for Comfy in Sea Foam and let me tell you - this stuff doesn't LOOK soft in the skein, but once I swatched it and then washed and dried it (machine wash and DRY!) it is so freaking soft! I want to roll around naked in it! (But I won't, because it's for the MIL and that would be gross). But I am going to have to order more for myself. For naked rolling.
