Eleanor is now 18 days old, I can't believe it's taken me so long to get back here! I keep trying but it feels like life is a blur of "nurse, change diapers for Eleanor & DS, nurse, put baby in mei tai and run like mad to get stuff done before I need to nurse again" just repeated over and over all day and night.
I never anticipated having such a hard time adjusting to a newborn again. It wasn't like this for my last couple babies so it really threw me for a loop. Most days I feel like I'm barely holding it together.
It's been rough since Eleanor was born... at 10 days postpartum I started a hemorrhage which thankfully resolved itself without having to go to the hospital but sent me to the couch for a couple days, we've had a lot of breastfeeding problems, DS (2yo) started getting his molars a couple days after Eleanor was born so he's been sick and cranky, the older girls are falling behind on their schooling because I can't keep up, the house is a DISASTER, and now dh is started to landscape on the side as well as work full time. I really could lose my mind most days.
The bright spot in it all, of course, is little Miss Ella. She is so snuggly and wonderful and I love the times I actually do get to sit and just soak up her wonderful newborn smell
