...though I am starting to think they probably won't work! I woke up early this morning with contractions and show, and made a couple of trips to the bathroom as well. Everything petered out around 9 or so. But this afternoon I am having lots of pressure and more show. And just had a little contraction. So possibly things are starting back up.

Thing is, I was REALLY hoping babe would wait till my parents get here on Saturday, cause then I don't have to call my inlaws to come take care of DS. I am fine with them coming, I just can't handle the idea of them calling everyone and anyone to tell them I'm in labour and then updating everyone regularly. Coincidentally, this fear was driven home today because three different people have called me to tell me that DH's cousin's wife's water broke last night at 3:30 am but no contractions yet. So I get a little glimpse of what it'll be like if our wishes (which have already been clearly expressed in writing!) to keep labour to ourselves are not respected.

Oh well, on the bright side, there is definitely stuff happening which will eventually lead to a baby! And we got a huge kick in the pants this morning, our hose is decluttered and as it happens, it is being cleaned this afternoon (another reason I didn't want to go into labour today, I didn't want to cancel my housecleaners!!)

Where are you? Do you have anyone else who can watch your DS if this is the real thing (which it sounds like it is!!! ?

Not really. We kind of went through every possible scenario and at the end of the day, having MIL take care of DS is probably the way to go, he will be most comfortable with her. Aside from the privacy/update thing, the ILs live almost 2 hours away, which is another reason why it would be easier with my parents here in the house, kwim? However, it is starting to seem that perhaps my will is not going to overtake the will of this little one, the cheeky thing!

Thanks, all! I just called my midwife as I've been having short, fairly regular contractions for over an hour now. I am still not convinced, but she thinks baby is coming tonight, after DS settles down for bed. We'll see. Anyway, she talked some sense into me - if it's what is supposed to happen, I need to go with the flow, otherwise I am setting myself up for things to drag on for days! So I'm putting aside the worries about the inlaws and just focusing on baby!

Ah, Laura, that's so sweet of you We will be fine though, I'm sure...Fionn loves his Nannie, they'll have a grand time.

And nope, the bathroom is sooooo not done! The tub is set up and working, and that's it. Drywall isn't even all in!! BUt we will forge ahead. Mike has to look and see whether we can hook the faucet adapter (for filling pool) up to the shower hookup, since the sink faucet's not in yet. If we can't get the pool set up, so be it. Life goes on!

Shauna, it's a good thing we have different midwives, your day and mine have some similarities.
