I used up a can of crab yesterday! We made crab rangoon. I can't say that it was all that great - too much to eat at one time, I think. And I think most Chinese places must use "krab." I have one more can of crab - I'll have to figure out what to do with that.

For next month, I am considering putting all the weird ingredients in a box on the counter. I'm thinking the cans of cranberry sauce and pumpkin will become ice cream or sorbet. It is definitely ice cream weather around here. Heck, if those work out, the frozen squash might become ice cream too.

i have been shopping alot lately but mostly on fruit. i have such a craving.
today i have to make the weeks plan for meals. i have been using alot of peanutbutter and jelly up but i still have at least 4 jars of jelly in there. i don't remember when i got them. i made chicken stew the other night and put black beans in it and it was good. i also have to start working out of the freezer. since my pantry is mostly just soups and pastas.

crab cakes with the canned crab are really good! Oh and canned pumpkin always gets made into a batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (and they freeze well), but if it is hot where you are, you may not feel like baking!

anyone know what to do with jelly besides put it on toast?

Mix it in ice cream! Put a dollop on a muffin before baking? PB&J rollups with tortillas?

There is a really good meatball recipe that calls for grape jelly and chili sauce like this one here: http://www.recipezaar.com/73362 but I do not add the cayenne pepper (only a pinch). These are delicious!

diving right in to answer this question lol. we stir a spoonful or 2 of jelly into oatmeal or other hot cereals (rice, buckwheat...) or spread it on pancakes. or waffles. thumbprint cookies, which are basic sugar cookies with an indent in the center that you put a drop of jelly in.

What about cashews? I'm not crazy about them plain. We have made a cashew chicken stir fry. Anything else?

I like nuts of any kind in granola, if you have ingredients for that. But I love cashews plain, too!

What about melting some chocolate chips and making candies with them. Or cookies?
