What test can be done to confirm it?
Are there any ways to treat it besides meds ?
What has been your experience

Unless the reflux is really bad most doctors won't test for it. Spitting up doesn't mean reflux btw Reflux is when baby is in pain and they can spit up with that or have silent reflux. Cutting all dairy out of mom's diet can many times get rid of reflux symptoms as it was actually the dairy causing problems.

Thanks. It's just I notice that he squirms and scrunches up when he is nursing and I guess reading all the stuff about reflux has me really nervous. How am I to know if it is silent reflux, the silent part is throwing me off.............

My oldest DD had silent reflux and I'm afraid I'm in for it with my twins too.

Basically, she could not poop and when she did (2 to 4 times a MONTH) - she threw up violently for hours afterwards. She wasn't constipated... it was always liquidy just painful to pass and the pressure to move it out is the reflux reaction.

NAK.. typo's ahead

she never, i mean never, spit up after eating. she did however cry and squirm afterwards and when gassy. she aso hated eating - period.

what worked?... getting older, reflux meds, probiotics and no dairy. She was much better by 9 months (except it still took her awhile to poop well)
no tests were performed other than feeling her abdomen and checking her spincter muscle

/hth

my LO acts constipated at times and I assume it's from the reflux.
