Gosh I can't remember the number of words but I can remember being a frustrated, comparing momma and now I wish I hadn't been! My DD was very slow to start any communication but when you take into consideration personality and environmental factors - I think she was normal. We are a bi-lingual home (Father only Arabic, momma only English) and babysitter was from Pakistan (only Urdu) AND top that off with a timid, 1st born child and you get a child who didn't string together words until she was well over 2, and closer to three when she could form small sentences. But now, at 3 1/2, she's hit the language "Boom" and is caught up!
