April Mommas- Does this mean I'm close??

My EDD is May 2 and I've been having nonpainful contractions on and off for a week. I lost my mucous plug last week, and at my last visit was dilated to a 2. Last night, I went to bed at 11 when I was having contractions 10 minutes apart that took my breath away. I woke up at 3 when they became painful and were 7 minutes apart. By 4, they were 6 minutes apart and really painful. I was getting ready to call L & D. By 5, they were still regular but no longer painful so I went back to bed. I am due in two days so I was really thinking that might be it! But nope. I'm a first-time mom so I'm not sure if this is that significant. Today, I've been having a contraction every 20 minutes but not painful like last night. Am I getting close??? I would love to have a May Day baby!

It sounds like you are close! Make sure and get some rest so that when it is the real thing you won't be exhausted! Good luck!
