My water broke ...

About 3 hours ago, and I've having tons of mucous and some bloody show!! Just a few mild contractions here and there so far. Am a bit nervous, but hoping things ramp up soon. My mw is always practical ... "80% of women go into labor within 24 hours of their water breaking, and 95% within 48 hours." I was just like, "No! None of this 24 or 48 hours crap! I'm having this baby today!" At least I hope I am . In the meantime, I am trying to follow her advice of just going about with my life and getting some rest, but it's hard .

The leaking thing is a serious PITA, though. I'm going through prefolds like crazy and only have 2 pairs of pants that fit me right now and one of them is all wet . And I'm down to my last pair of underwear, so dh is doing some emergency loads of laundry. But I hate feeling like my mobility is somewhat limited, because I'm just not ready to get all naked and make a mess of everything yet . It will be nice when things get going and I can get in the tub and just not have to worry about it. In the meantime, I'm spending a fair amount of time on the toilet ... at least until my legs fall asleep .

Beyond that, dh is like a whirlwind in the basement getting the birth tub set up and everything in order. And I'm ... waiting . DH is going to set his laptop up in the basement, so I will try to keep you guys updated .

I can't believe I'm going to get to meet my baby soon!!!

How exciting! Concentrate on opening up & getting that baby out & report back to us when you can. I woudl jump up and down, but that would require getting up which isn't the most fun thing right now so i'll just have to do it in my head.

Can I just say how awesome my birth tub looks?! I rented a Birth Tub in a Box from my mw, and WOW! It is huge and so deep. It looks like it's going to be fantastic!
