what is this rash?

My dd(4yo) has a pimply rash on the inside of her elbows and on her back. It is itchy for her. The wierd thing is, it came out of nowhere a few weeks ago. I was thinking maybe it is seasonal allergies? Could be detergent, I had a new kind a couple of weeks ago, but switched back to the old sort about a weeka ago. The rash is as bad as ever still though. She had a similar rash on the back of her knees when she was two, but it has been gone for a year or more. She has the dark circles under her eyes the last few weeks and just seems out od sorts. I haven't changed anything in our diet recently. hmm.

Does your dd have food allergies that you know of? It could be excema but is impossibe to know without seeing it. My ds (6) has lots of food allergies and gets rashes regularly but none that I would ever describe as pimply, and my little ds gets excema often on the pits of his elbows, but again none that I would ever describe as pimply, it's more red and irritated and raised. If it doesn't go away, I guess I would either try some natural remedy for the skin to see if it goes away or take her to see your doctor or naturopath.

Good luck!

It could be molluscum, which is a virus that looked like pimples or pox. It is really contagious and takes 2-5 years to get rid of completely. My kids have all had it and it started on the backs of their knees and legs and my son had it really bad in the crook of his elbow.

It is also very common to see the "bumps", as my kids call them, surrounded by eczema.

Google the term molluscum and see if the pictures look like what your child has. Unfortunately there is no cure and you have to let it run it's course. According to our doc it is really common and most kids have it at some point or other.,

Good luck!
