Muddy Dingoes bring May Flowers! - Page 2

RR: HBM kicked my A$$ this morning. MB and MBelle have spoiled me the last 2 weeks by going slow, running 1 mile, walking .25. Not HBM.... we ran ?1.5-2 ? .... I'm not sure b/c there was not much blood flow to my brain at this point .. then we walked for 5 min, then ran again, another mile, up a hill and to a bridge that was waaayyy far away in teh distance. She wwanted to go another mile or 2, but luckily she ran into another sucker..... uhh, I mean frined of hers... who took my place in teh torture chamber beside Paige.

Actually, it was great to be pushed. That is the most that I have run in teh last 10 years.

Alos, I drank an electrolyet drink (I drank all 2 servings and all 50 carbs ), Fuze brand, not a diet flavor, but I feel much better today. Thanks MB and MBelle for that suggestion.

Gigi-you did awesome! I am so proud of you! It was fun, wasn't it? And dude, you totally sprinted that hill you wanted to walk!

Mandy-Yuck on the back and the leg. Do you think you need to be checked out?

KERC-That is a pitiful May Day forecast. :

Linda-what geneology are you doing?

Shanti-we're all going to do a happy dance when that darned Enell gets there.

Athansor-Whoa! You're so close! Time for more stalking...

Splendid and Bjorker! Glad you are here.

Mandy, is there anyone around who could give your calf a really hard squeeze for you while you lie down? That is one way to tell if there's a clot. I don't know how reliable it is (I hear it's a sucky test), but it's something.

Can you be more specific about where the spot is? Is it more to the inside-back of your knee or outside-back? There are a lot of muscle insertions right there... maybe you have some tendonitis.

I wondered if you had something pinching in your back causing the leg pain. I would head to the doc though to get it checked out. A potential clot is nothing to mess with.

Did 3 1/2 - 4 with jgmommo with dd riding her bike and pushing the jogger. I keep waiting to have these great feeling legs and I don't! I'm still tired. Ugh.

Yeah Plady that's what made the dream so funny....here I am having a stereotypical anxiety dream and then let's throw in hot man... Weird.

back, inside. the pain is concentrated about 3 finger-widths up from the knee crease and extends about 1 finger-width in each direction. just feeling around - i guess there is loads of muscle there but it's not a tendonitis sort of pain (or at least not like tendonitis that i've had before.) pressing on the pain makes my foot feel a little funny (like how things feel before you get pins and needles). doing the same on the non-hurting other leg doesn't create that feeling.

maybe it's just a knot, like you get in your back :headscratch

thank you guys for listening to me complain. i feel like i'm falling apart.

what's that pretty purple swirly thing that some of you have got on the left? It's cute!

No run for me today, just hanging out. pick up my packet tomorrow.... thunderstorms in the forcast for race morning. I dont' know what to wear, I have no rain gear, so I guess I'll just run wet.

DrJen, I wonder about that too, the TM vs. outdoors. Guess we'll find out together! I wish you were running here too, or me there, but we'll be together in spirit!! Good luck and enjoy it!!

Ladies, I'm going on a mission trip to El Salvador, my first mission trip. I'm starting a blog If you can pass the word that'd be great!

!

That's teh "designation" for those who paid for supporting memberships. It uised to say "pretty in pink" or "awesome advertiser" or something like those, but they changed it to those swirlies

Lisa-I would recommend TONS of BodyGlide. When Mamabeth and I did that half in the rain last year we had serious chaffing issues. I mean serious-like I have scars. . Put it everywhere, even places you've never chaffed before. Definetely wear a hat to keep the rain out of your eyes.

On Saturday night, before the 5k, I had a dream that I could not get my laces tied. They simply would not go! Wish there was a hot guy in that dream. Oh, well.

RR: I got in a hard, fast 7 miles! I'm feeling so freaking good this week, it isn't even funny! I love that!

Would you believe that there is Brownie Troop drama happening in my world? How can being a Brownie leader be so freaking political? I don't get it.: Ugh, at least the other leader and I are on the same page. But the poor lady has been driven to tears twice today by other moms.

i wish I had dreams with any hot guys! I just dream about my old boyfriends regularly. Sigh. Then I wake up with angst.

Hmmm, Mandy, that sounds like a nerve-related sort of pain, especially w/ the radiating-down-to-the-foot thing. Go see someone IRL.

Hi everyone! It is May and I am looking forward to a good run but probably will have to wait until tomorrow and will be on treadmill. Today is beautiful so I'm bummed! Just too busy!

I was a co-leader for a Brownie troop and then a leader of a Daisy troop, and I will not put myself through that crap again until I am doing it for my own daughter. I am very patient and understanding that parents have concerns and each parent parents differently, but dang. Some people sure can be rude about it all though. It too shall pass, right?

that's exactly what everyone was telling me before the half because it was rainy at the start. it's good advice! i didn't have any bodyglide or vaseline so i grabbed a tube of A+D hoping that would be close enough and i slathered it all over my feet before the race. not sure if it helped because the rain let up pretty much right at the start but i saw people using bodyglide everywhere i looked.

I'll have to keep the body glide recommendation in mind and bring it to my half when I have it (hopefully, nice weather).

Jenlove - The drama is mostly passing, but geesh! People get really uptight about 7 year old's activities!

Great pic Poppy! Your ds is adorable.
What a great picture, poppy! I'm jealous...I always get the crappiest race pictures...looking pissed off, funky cellulite flapping in the wind, etc.

Weather report...the snow has tapered off for the moment. It was snowing so freaking hard this morning it was ridiculous. I am not kidding you, golf ball sized snowflakes! And it's supposed to snow again tomorrow morning before warming up for the weekend. Thank goodness...I SO do not want to run a half in fcrappy weather! I went to cheer for two friends who were running a half/full marathon last October and it was a miserable cold and rainy morning. When I saw them around mile 10, they were completely soaked to the skin. Yuck. I just don't know if I could do it!

Whoo hoo! New thread, AND I can get onto it. Mostly subbing. My mom has started chemo and radiation, but so far is doing well. I'll probably go again to see her next weekend. I haven't run for a few days because I was getting some soreness in my heels, but I hope to get out with my dogs tomorrow!

2 mile walk done, only painful up and down hills. 1 mile flat bike ride - it felt okay. stretching felt good tonight and i did some light ab and leg work on the floor.

i was thinking tonight that in addition to the race list and the pregnant dingo list that we should have a DL (disabled list). just kidding really.
