Eleanor fell asleep last night at 11:40 after a nursing marathon from 8pm - 11:40pm. She woke up at 5:50, nursed for 20 minutes and went back to sleep. It's now 9 a.m. and she's still sleeping!!! I would be too but everyone else got up at 7:30.
I almost feel rested! But man I want her to wake soon, my boobs are killing me!!

Woo hoo!! That's great. I thought we were doing well with our three hour stretches! Congrats!

Yeah, baby sleep is such a double edged sword. You love it but then your boobs dont exactly allow you to enjoy it. I literally had to carry my left breast to the bathroom this morning at 5am and then had to wake C to nurse before I could even think about sleeping again. Sigh.

And I thought our 4 hour stretches were impressive at this point! Well actually they are considering my two other kids woke up every 2 hours everyn night until they were 1....

i got really lucky with this baby *knock on wood*

she goes to sleep for the night around 11pm, and "wakes up" every 2 hour to nurse for about 10 minutes, and then falls RIGHT back asleep with no problem and sleeps soundly until she starts to grunt, 2 hours later when she is hungry again. finally around 9am she is awake.

yeah it kinda sucks having to be awake to nurse her every 2 hours, but she seriously sleeps through me nursing her. how she could have her eyes closed tightly and her whole body limp, yet still be vigorously sucking is beyond me.

so pretty much she nurses at 11pm, then we both go to bed, she gets up for about 10 minutes to eat around 1am, 3am, 5am, 7am and then at 9 when she's up for the day. so i get like 8-9 hours of sleep (i usually get up before 9) minus four 10 minute sessions, and after i burp her i can pretty much fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

its so nice and i always feel well rested in the mornings.

i think if she slept for longer and then ate for longer each time I'd probably be more tired because I'm the type of person who once awake for long enough has a really hard time falling back asleep. so while i don't like waking up every 2 hours, its only for 15 minutes tops and i like it better than waking up evey 4 hours and actually BEING awake for 30-40 minutes, kwim?

none of this made any sense did it?

I actually got a 4 hour nap this morning. It has been just me, the LO and the dogs this week b/c DH is away for work. I haven't showered in days , but at least now I can form a coherent thought.

Elizabeth is a great sleeper too, she sleeps from 11pm to 3am wakes to nurse and is right back to sleep until 7am. During the day is entirely different though, she doesn't nap much and if she's awake she's on the boob constantly. I'm so glad for night time when I can get a break
