A Nurse Hath Offended Me

An acquaintance of my dh's, who happens to be a nurse, told him that intact penises are dirty and she'd never put one in her mouth.

WT% !!!!!!!!!?????????

First...I can't imagine why she feels like that is an appropriate comment to tell my dh:...she is married and older...but still!! And secondly...I've read some crazy stories here and understand that there are all sorts of uneducated people out there, including many many many (most) health professionals, but I am still in complete shock that she would put it in that particular way.

I am so tempted to print out information about intact penises and drop it off at her house right now. I was literally shaking with anger last night. My dh and I don't exactly see eye to eye about circ...but it's for religious reasons and clearly I'm not going to get into details here. I am just so saddened that this kind of thinking pervades our culture. My father is from the UK and is intact as is my brother. I grew up in a hippy town in Colorado where most boys were left intact. I find it apsolutely sickening that the sexual preference (if you can call it that) of and adult would be a justification for circing baby boys.

haha, thats the thing. Its funny when people call uncut penises gross, because to be honest, genitals in general cut/uncut, male or female are kinda "gross" and no more or less gross then another.

Whenever I hear a woman say that an intact penis is gross, I want to say "well all a vagina is, is an inverted foreskin, thats about 5 times deeper, wetter, and twice as slimy. So really, you shouldn't be talking."

Just imagine a male health professional saying that he would never go down on a woman with uncirc'd vulva as part of a conversation about infant female circumcision. It boggles my mind the way men's sexuality is denigrated and that it is acceptable to speak this way about a BABY.

I think many of us were told when we were young that baby boys needed to be circumcised because the foreskin would make the penis "filthy, dirty, gross" etc. All of us have come to learn that it's simply not true and that basic daily hygeine is all that is need to keep clean and presentable for come what may....I wouldn't kiss anyone who didn't brush/floss their teeth...a freshly showered penis is a clean penis, intact or circumcised...the same goes for women. And I loved Yulia's response!

Holy shamoly! Obviously that poor woman either underwent a MouthFilterectomy at some point or is suffering from a severe case of StupidMouthitis and surely cannot control what comes out. Sad, tragic really, considering what kind of trouble that must get her into.

I dont know if its because I am male, or because of my age, but I never heard anything negative about the intact penis when I was a kid. I never felt the foreskin it self dirty. I was never told it was dirty. The only thing I remember is back in 5th grade I remember hearing how smegma was not dirty (on howard stern of all places) and remember being surprised. But nothing negative about the actual foreskin.
