Which restoration "gadget" should dh get?

Dh wants to restore. I've been through the restoration thread, but I'd like to know if anyone can personally recommend one restoration "gadget"? Dh is not the type who will remember to manual restore or do tape or anything that requires much work. I think he'll need to buy something that is easy to use and won't require too much effort

Any recommendations?

Well the restoration process isn't easy. Its really not for people who want to put little effort into it.

I good place to start is tape, because you can get an idea of how his skin responds to the restoration process.

But I have also heard a lot of good things about the TLCX

But again, everyone responds differently, and your husband needs to invest time and dedication to figuring out what works best for him.

I'll sing the praises of the TLC-X as well.

I would just point him to various options and let him choose one. Each has advantages and disadvantages. The most important issue is whether he will use it. And only he can figure that out.

If he cannot be bothered to even look into it enough to choose his preferred method....is he really ready to begin?

He can always switch methods, so finding the perfect one is not that big a deal.

Cross taping is the time honored first method for many. Simple, easy, and gives one a sense of what it is like to restore. Soem even progress enough with this method to feel significant differences during sex.

Feel free to pm me, or better have him pm me if it will help.

Regards

It is for those of us who don't have huge disposible incomes and these things run up to $100 apiece :\

Manual. If he can't remember to manually tug, an expensive device in the drawer isn't going to work.

Of course, but money had not been brought up as an issue. It may well be worth it to him to pay more for the convenience. If not, he can figure out what criteria he wants to use to determine the best method for him.

DH did his own research and decided on the "Foreskin Natural Restorer" which used to be called the R2K. It's working well from what I know....you can now see some slack in his foreskin, where before it was pretty tight. He does have to use tape though which I know he is getting tired of.....but he likes the device because you can urinate without taking it off.

Do you have to take off the TLC-X to urinate?

It looks like it to me. If you search on "tlc" and "foreskin" you will find the site with information.

Yeah, I looked at it more and it looks like you do, but it looks relatively easy to take on and off.

Yes, and that is one of the advantages of devices, typically. Easy on and off, so that spontaneous sex is more spontaneous. I use tape. It is also easy to pee with this, but adds a small amount of time. And spontenaety is not very good, but that is not an issue for us at this stage of our family life. We have our activites pretty organized.

On the other hand, it gives me a chance to shift things a bit and monitor what is going on. I personally am concerned about pee through devices, too easy to forget about and pinch or reduce blood flow. But many have used them succesfully, so this is an indivdual thing.

Each person has to figure out for themselve waht will work best. And frequently they switch methods after trying one or two and seeing how well they integrate into their life.

Dear jrose lee:
Your dear hubby needs to first commit to the fact that restoration requires much effort and dedication in addition to some knowledge and appreciation about the restoration movement and normal penile anatomy. I researched much via on-line before I restored beginning in 2003. I restored faithfully (obsessively is a better word) for a total of 15 months with mini resting periods before achieving my goal which was full total coverage of my glans in the flacid / non-erect state. norm.org is a great place to start learning about "foreskin" restoration (I prefer the term "prepuce" since the part amputated during circ. is much much more than just "skin").
I chose the T & T method (t-tapes) that utilized 3M brand Tegaderm bandages and Thera-Band exercise bands which I purchased inexpensively on-line. I made my own t-tapes and as my skin grew with tension using straps I stuffed the cylinder with soft cotton balls. This method has drawbacks since urination requires you to unfold & reconnect. (takes a few minutes). Plus the tapings only last a few days before coming loose and needing to be replaced after a day or so of resting. I chose this method because I feared lateral expansion or widening of the newly grown prepuce at the end of my penis. I succeeded with growing a prepuce (2 inches total skin growth) including sensitive inner mucosal skin that covers my flacid penis and provides significant gliding action with an erection. When flacid my prepuce comes to a puckered closer which stays that way almost all the time when flacid. My results have been Remarkable not only physically pleasing but emotionally healing. I have gained a significant part of me that was brutally and unforgivably taken from me as a one day old infant. I have achieved the many benefits other restored men proclaim for which I am forever grateful. It is truely a transformation I have NEVER thought possible until researching restoration beginning in 2003. My advise to your husband is to research and talk, talk, talk, to other men who have successfully restored before deciding on a method that is best for him. He can use more than one device to achieve his end goal. Although restoration will never give a man all what he was meant to have, it comes in second place for sure ! Best wishes to your husband.

We do have a foreskin restoration "sticky" up above in the forums that is full of good info. It's good to have another thread on the subject, of course, but I just wanted to point to that as an additional resource for you.

Happy tugging.
