I am just at the end of my rope.

Everything I ask her (very nicely) to do -- or tell her to do, she does the opposite.

I'll ask her to stop doing something and she'll just completely ignore me and continue one.

I'm going crazy here today.

Change the scenario. If you're losing your mind today, then get out of the house or something. Give her something messy to do (like bubbles in the sink). Lock yourself in the bathroom and eat a bunch of chocolate.

Kids will ignore you. She must be having a crazy day too. My kids don't listen to anything I say, so I try to avoid telling them to do anything at all most of the time. It's easier to not worry about it, though I know that that's not much of an answer.

The only time I do really worry about it is when she's harrassing, and sometimes really hurting her baby brother.

I would try moving the baby out of harms way....perhaps distraction would help? Tell her to do the opposite of what you need? Make something sound like a privalidge because of her age/good behavior. Just a few ideas.

I am having this exact problem. We decided that the natural conequence would be losing priviledge to play with the baby if she harassed him. It seems to work pretty well. We told her if she can't be gentle she won't be able to touch brother. She scared me half to death the other day because she bent his neck. When I asked her to stop she totally ignored me. I was visibly mad at that point, so I made my husband handle the rest.
