Hey Dads
I need some help. I have heard of a program that is boy-scout-like but where the dads participate with their sons (instead of dropping them off at the meetings/activities). I cannot recall the name of it and would like to find out more. anyone know what i'm talking about? or have other suggestions??
thanks!

Spiral kids? But it's for everyone, not just boys/fathers.

Thanks thixle, I'll have to look into that one (never heard of it). I think the one I was thinking of is Indian Scouts or Guides. The reason I was having so much trouble finding them is they changed their name. Something like adventure guides now. Anyway...I'm going to look into all of them!

I don't know if lack of parental involvement is your only issue with Boy Scouts (I've heard any number of other very legitimate issues--religion, politics, etc.), but at least where we are, parental involvement/attendance is VERY strongly encouraged, actually mandatory for some ages and/or activities. My older son is in his first year of Boy Scouting, after many years as a Cub Scout, and the vast majority of parents are still active in the troop. I'm sure it varies somewhat from area to area, and troop to troop, but if scouting itself interests you, you could probably find the right group.
