Natren Life Start for newborn? Good idea or not?

Thread Starter
I've been reading and reading through the archives and have decided to give my newborn Bifidobacterium infantis when she arrives in 2 months.
My question is Natren LifeStart contains dairy and every book I read says to avoid dairy for babies? But any other prox I find contains more than just the Bifidobacterium infantis strain so I am not sure I should give that to her?

Has anyone had positive results with Natren LifeStart or found another prox they like better?

Thanks so much!

Hhhmmm. Given our current situation I would not choose to give another LO a prbx in a lactose base. However, the one DD started on at birth (before any issues arose) was in a lactose base - pharmax neonate. So...if there is no hx of any type of allergy in you and DP my opinion is that it would be okay BUT to really limit your own dairy intake. Also, you don't need to limit your LO to one strain of probx - the one DD took/takes (her allergy free one) have multiple strains which I think is great. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not using it for that reason. Solaray Babylife is dairy-free, but contains soy, so you may want to avoid that, too. We're using Kirkman's Bifido-factor. It has none of the common allergens.

We're using Kirkman Bifido Complex too, but it does have other probiotics in it beside the b. infantis.
