Maya as PG belly sling?

Anybody ever use their Maya (or similar wrap/sling) as a belly sling? I'm thinking of doing that for our costco run since walking causes me SUCH pain these days...

Just wondering how to best do it. Try to hide it under clothes? put it all the way on top? ideas?

I have no advice, but I hate when my questions to unanswered, so I'm replying .

Also, you get major points for having the mental and physical stamina to do a costco run right now! I can barely tolerate the place even when not pregnant.

Did you figure out a way to make the sling work?

I have to find it first. I know it's in some rubbermaid thing in the garage... just which one??

I so do NOT have the mental and physical stamina. I'm just trying to trick baby into coming. (plus, we do need some stuff--the kids are starting to refuse to eat what we have )

I can barely waddle around the tiny grocery store in town here.

My midwife suggested I use some muslin (or my Maya) around my hips to help pull them in a bit, since I've been having so much pelvic pain (SPD). Maybe this would help for your belly pain too?
Tried using some other fabric but it didn't work. I finally just found & washed the Maya so I still need to try it, but here's what she said to do:

Wrap from the front to the back, with the top of the fabric at the top of the pubic bone & the rest going down over your hips. At your back, pull tightly and twist, bringing each end back to the front. Yes, that part of the fabric will kind of bunch up on itself. Tie it low at the pubic bone, and then kind of tuck the knot back in under itself to tighten the fabric around the hips & add a bit more traction.

Does that make sense? Oh, and you can put it on over loose pants (dunno about jeans or whatnot) & shirt...it will likely look goofy, but oh well!
Also, she said not to use it when you're sitting or lying down; just when moving around.

Hope this helps -- please report back! I'll try mine too & see if I can clarify the above once I've actually had some personal experience....

For my aching belly, I sometimes wear a tank top called a Belly Bra that I bought in my first pregnancy; it gives me some support. But mostly I just have to rest, get in warm water, do deep breathing, etc. to help ease the pain these days

thanks!! that does help!

I wear skirts, so not sure how it would work. In thinking more I realized it would look pretty stupid over top a full skirt. I'm definitely trying it though, so I'll let you know!
