I got my drum carder this morning

Happy birthday, me! We bought it at Wonderwool, but due to a misunderstanding and a ford fiesta driving for 50 miles at 25 mph, the one that was reserved for me accidentally got sold- just as well, really, they'd set a coarse one aside and I wanted fine. It came this morning, and I am desperate for the kids to go to bed so I can play!

(Is this really sad? Honestly?)

For those who have yet to discover spinning, a drum carder makes the wool lie down and behave so you can spin it.

Happy Birthday to you! I do not think it is sad at all. I just started spinning on a drop spindle and I am absolutely enthralled with it!

Yup, but you have to come deliver it yourself Being honest though, with romney you'd be better spinning it from the lock anyhow.
Can I just say, I'm in love? I seen to have lost the camera so pictures of my first batts are going to have to wait, but yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.

That is so awesome! Congratulations! I am soooo envious of you. Can I send my 100 grams of dog hair that I've been saving up to you? just kidding of course. Not about the dog hair, that's real. But I'm not trying to send it to you.

Are you kidding? You get an award for waiting till they go to bed! I've been so desperate to knit a few rows before that I'll get the toddler set up with something particularly enticing (like the hose) just so I can get in a few minutes with my needles! So scandalous...

That's so exciting!! I just ordered a strauch finest and it's being delivered on Tuesday

Have fun! I'd love to see some pictures of the batts you make.
