How do you add on?

I dont know what its 'called'...but lets say you are making something that requires more than one ball of yarn...how do you add the second ball on?
What I would really love is a youtube (or something similar lol) video of this - so I can see it!!!

There are a variety of ways to do it. Me personally, I just knot the new yarn in especially if there's a clear front and back to the piece I'm working on. But the real techniques of joining yarn can be found here, under "Joining Yarn".
