Help Me Pee

Anyone have any tricks for emptying their bladder? Seems like going to the bathroom is such an effort and then I can hardly get anything out. I took a class with my first pregnancy, and the the teacher suggested pulling up on your uterus at the end to empty your bladder, but I don't think that is working.

Hmmm that's what I do. I lift up right under my belly button. Otherwise I stand up and than sit back down.

pull up on the uterus (from down low), lean forward, breathe in and out slowly to help relax, whine a little. complain to DH that you can't pee and it HUUUUUURTS. get ready to give up, start standing up. pee.

Yesterday I did notice that if I kind of squatted or leaned over the toilet instead of sitting, the urine just came right out. Hasn't worked every time, but it is definitely worth trying.

I had to squat in the woods and pee last week while out walking and it was the emptiest my bladder has been in awhile, so I've been trying to recreate that by spreading my legs pretty wide and leaning forward.

Peppermint might help, try smelling some peppermint oil.

Not in your DDC... But my SIL who just had her baby used Peppermint Extract. She just put a few drops in the toilet and inhaled the scent a few times. She said that it worked within a few minutes every time. (I'm only 14 weeks, so I haven't experienced this but wrote it down when she mentioned it so I can use it later!)

This works for me too. I also kind of rock back and forth.

yup pretty much what the other gals suggest i do all of (except peppermint oil - that would make me puke - i have a BAD mint aversion in pregnancy. . )

stand up, sit down, rock side to side while having legs spread as far as you can and pick belly up and kind of jiggle the belly a bit. . .

then stand up and do a sort of belly dance movement and sit down again. . .you'll be able to pee more after that. .

sounds silly but it helps. i joke that i have multiple bladders. LOL

"Stand up, sit down, pee, pee, pee" Sad when we're brought to silly songs to help us with basic body functions, isn't it?

Anyone else feel a little "pop" sensation between the 1st tickle of pee to the last little drops? It's like my baby drops down onto my bladder and it HURTS!

My sil had this problem really bad. We finally got out the postpartum squeezie bottle and just filled with warm tap water. she'd give a gentle squirt of the warm water and it would make her pee every time with the flow. She said it was like she was tricking herself into thinking she was already going, so she would then fully empty.

Obviously this only works during certain occasions because you can't take a shower every time you pee, but peeing in the shower is the easiest time I pee.

Agreed! Nothing works better than warm water hitting that belly to get me going...lol

squatting works well for me, as well as leaning forward (like to touch your toes) while I pee.

Another tip that I've read is to get on all fours and pee into a basin rather than using the toilet. If you're really desperate.

Hell yeah! glad i am not the only one, DH thinks i am a freak! especially when i do that long drawn out yeah! but it just feels so good to have an empty bladder.
